The Client Unit Corporate Banking (CB) is responsible for two client segments: Corporate & Institutional Clients and Commercial Clients and four product units: Markets, Clearing, Financing Solutions, Asset Based Finance, Credit Portfolio Management. Furthermore, also three enabling functions: Processes & Control, Business Implementation and Office. Corporate Banking serves corporate clients with a turnover from €25 million in turnover and up. Are you good at taking ownership of specific risk and control related topics on one hand, and being responsible for the execution of risk instruments within the framework on the other? For Corporate Banking, Processes & Control, we are looking for a Risk Change Manager (Non-Financial) who will contribute to risk awareness and operational excellence across sectors, regions and product lines within the business in co-operation with the 2nd Line of Defense.

Your job

This is a 1st line of Defense role. You are responsible for the effective and efficient execution of the Operational Risk Management Framework within CB. You will act as a linking pin between the CB business and 2nd & 3rd line stakeholders. You will participate in various meeting structures and provide input for the CB risk committee. You will be the business representative in the execution of the global regulatory NFR projects within a complex and multidisciplinary environment. The complexity of the role derives from applying and embedding up to date knowledge of risk- and change management in an ever changing international regulatory landscape and an international complex setting with different senior stakeholders per country and Client/Product Unit. Constantly liaising with multiple stakeholders from the business, the 2nd and the 3rd Line of Defense representatives.

Working environment

Risk Oversight and Control & Regulations falls within the scope of Processes & Control and is responsible for all first line Non-Financial / Operational risk & control activities and accountable for the oversight of Corporate Banking’s full risk taxonomy. Processes & Control safeguards CB’s license to operate by (i) having a firm grasp on the risk taxonomy, (ii) creating and maintaining complete and correct administration, (iii) enabling flawless business operations and (iv) offering reliable day-to-day business support.

Our team: Contributes to the execution and monitoring of the Operational risk & control framework of the bank by taking an active gatekeeping role towards the business. Takes ownership of specific risk and control related topics and projects and is responsible for the execution of operational risk instruments within the framework. Ensures demonstrable adherence to Compliance, Legal and Tax related policies in the realm of Markets Integrity, Client Protection & Product Integrity, Organisational & Employee Integrity, Client Integrity etc. Takes part in the execution of Operational Risk Management, Compliance and Audit related instruments within the existing Operational Risk framework which contributes to the identification of operational risks within CB. Facilitates accurate, complete and timely management information for both internal and external stakeholders by accurate reporting on own activities, either in BAU or projects.

Your profile

You’re a self-starter who enjoys to operate independently and improve the team as a whole. You want to improve yourself and the organization continuously and you’re open to changes.

  • Relevant risk management and/or project management experience, preferably in a commercial business setting.
  • Excellent communication skills - you feel comfortable liaising with Senior Management and other stakeholders
  • Strong organizational sensitivity - the ability to understand and take into account organizational dynamics.
  • Loves problem solving.
  • Fluent in English.

This role is based at the ABN AMRO head office at the Gustav Mahlerlaan in Amsterdam South. We have adopted a hybrid way of working where it will be partly from home and partly from the office.
