Senior Loan Syndicate & Sales
At a glance
Loan Syndicate is part of the Debt Capital markets & Syndicate (DCM&S) team within Global Markets, and responsible for the distribution of loans originated by the Financing Solutions business line (inter alia the Loan Origination, Acquisition & Leveraged Finance and Project Finance teams). The Loan Syndicate team determines the appropriate on-market commercial terms of these loans, which can be underwritten as well as best efforts transactions. Additionally, the team assesses available lending liquidity for these primary deals as well as for any distribution via secondary trades. Also, the team is responsible for seeking credit risk insurance and is involved in various other Originate-to-Distribute initiatives which ABN AMRO is undertaking. The team is ambitious, flexible and highly committed.
Your job
You will be part of a small team of professionals and responsible for two or three focus areas which the Loan Syndicate team has, in line with ABN AMRO’s strategy: Corporates, Energy, FI, Global Transport & Logistics (GTL includes shipping and intermodal), Leveraged Finance, Project Finance, Real Estate and Credit Risk Insurance. Your will be the go-to person for internal stakeholders in case of any syndication topics in your designated focus areas. Your daily work will consist of advising internal teams and external clients on the latest syndicated loan markets dynamics, and providing market colour on liquidity for underwritten as well as best efforts deals. You will advise on the commercial terms of these syndicated loans and thereafter distribute these loans via the primary or secondary market, or seek credit risk insurance. Travelling and/or international dialogues are a recurring part of the job, as a large part of the ‘buy-side’, i.e. the banks and institutional investors to which we sell the loans, are based outside of the Netherlands.

Your profile
- Minimum 6 - 12 years of relevant working experience in order to qualify for a Hay 12 position
- Experience in the syndicated loan market
- Experience in loan credit analysis in one or more of the following areas; Leveraged Finance, Project Finance, Corporates, Energy, GTL, RE and FI
- You have obtained a university degree
- Commercial and driven attitude. Client/Investor oriented
- You are a professional that can think outside the box
- Excellent communication skills
- You embrace responsibility and are flexible when it comes to working hours
- You are capable of absorbing a great deal of information and can act quickly if desired
- You are structured, organized and have a macro view
