Your job

As a tech-savvy product owner of ABN AMRO’s PSD2 teams you will be in the lead to maintain, change and create functionalities based on external API’s that are partially based on a regulation, but also based on business models to support our customers and the bank.

Two teams are responsible for the activities such as life cycle management, run activities and the creation of new functionalities together with the commercial implementation. The services are crucial for our clients to be able to operate their business and are available 24/7.

Together with the lead product owner, you will develop a vision on Transaction Banking API-based propositions and will help propagate it to your agile teams, the department, other product owners and stakeholders within ABN AMRO. You will prioritize the execution of the workload, take your stakeholders with you during sprint reviews and demos, you know how to value their input and influence where necessary. You also report effectively on statuses, deviations and solutions to stakeholders. Short cycle, focus on creating maximum customer value, with predictable delivery and execution. That is the basis from which you always work.

Working environment

We are working within Transaction Services which is part of Transaction Banking. The ambition of Transaction Services is to improve the transaction experience, unlock new business models and to reduce Operations & Customer Care handling whilst remaining compliant with regulatory and market standards.

Within the PSD2 teams, we strive foremost to stay compliant by maintaining and changing the existing propositions and processes. Any new/changed regulation will have to be prioritized and added to the existing proposition.

Next to that, we work on propositions for our corporate clients. Working together with teams from other grids, learning from client feedback and continuously improving the solutions is part of the challenge to improve the position of ABN AMRO as a leading bank in the Open Banking area. We have an entrepreneurial attitude where we try, validate and make decisions based on where we can add most value.

You will be product owner of 2 (mostly offshore) IT teams. Your key internal stakeholders are sales, client unit representatives, operations and IT. It is clear that you will be working very closely with the lead product owner, product owners of other teams, business developers but also with external clients to determine the course of the propositions and prioritisation of the deliveries.

You know how to deal with the pressure of a high exposure position like this in a complex environment. You are strong in creating a vision, partly due to your drive and energy, you are able to achieve goals and inspire the people around you. You use a facilitating leadership style. You have strategic insight, you communicate easily with senior management and with your teams and you have execution power. You bring the matter constantly in motion. You know what is going on within the organization, what the business needs and take an exemplary role in striving to reach the goals. You take the lead in a natural way. Check your profile:

- Higher educational background (master level) and relevant work experience.

- Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong focus on value (either for the bank or users)

- You know how a bank works and have experience as a product owner

- You oversee the complexity of regulation, compliance, legislation, risk, commercial interest and ICT and know how this relates to each other.

- Energetic by nature and focused on collaboration, a facilitating leadership style to achieve results.

- Skilled in analysing and structuring complex problems, identifying solutions/ options and presenting your advice to stakeholders in a convincing and structured manner.

- Managerial experience.
