At a glance

We’re looking for a junior Solution Architect who can support and challenge the teams in new deliveries. In order to do this, the Solution Architect has in depth knowledge of the Core Banking T24 application (both functional and technical) and understanding of the business processes. You have good communicational skills, you are a connector and you have the talent to look at things with a broad scope but you don’t forget about the detailed, practical implementation.

Your job

You have a very diverse job, meaning you work on various topics at the same time. Depending on the needs within the organisation these could be assignments you’re working on:

• You write a solution intent for a new business requirement. When the business has a new request you are involved from the first start. You discover together with the business developer what the scope and requirements are. Next, you are in contact with fellow Solution Engineers / Architects to determine the direction for solutioning. Then, you discuss together with the Product Owner, the delivery team, the IT Lead and other important stakeholders what your proposed solution will be. In this stadium you work together with a lot of stakeholders, but you’re the person who is in charge of the solution! Topics could for example be an interface to a new system, new regulatory requirements, new products or client groups.
• You are involved in the implementation of new modules within the system. Together with multiple stakeholders we’ve decided to use a new module, we’ve performed a Proof of Concept and we are convinced this new module will benefit us. The next step is to define guidelines on how we should use this module. In what circumstances do we use it, what business need does it cover, when do we use other alternatives? But also, how do we make sure all delivery teams use it in the same manner? You will be responsible for setting up the framework and supporting the delivery teams with the actual implementation. To help the delivery teams with the use of this new module and to improve the way of working. Your practical mindset, IT implementation experience and knowledge of the system help you during this assignment.
• You are responsible to be up to date and share your knowledge on guidelines and future state architecture within ABN AMRO. Next to that you adjust the current state architecture with information of developments.
• You give feedback to colleagues in Peer Review sessions on solutioning within and outside our Grid.

Working environment

You will start working in the International Core Banking domain (ICB). Our domain is responsible for the Core Banking applications and applications related to Wealth Management. Meaning we support our International Business lines with a focus on private banking. Due to the international growth ambitions, ICB is a dynamic environment where you won't get bored easily. We make sure all our applications are stable, future proof, delivered with high quality and met the end users expectations.

Within the Core Banking domain you are situated in the Shared Services team. This team consists of specialists who work together with the various delivery teams. All specialists have in common that they are active in the whole chain and not work for one specific functional area. Next to that, the specialists within the Shared Services team have an overarching view on our domain (and other relating domains). The Shared Services team consists of Solution Architects, IT Integrators, the Migration team and the Support & Consultancy team.

Your profile

We’re looking for someone who is able to support different people within the organisation, meaning amongst others product owners, delivery teams and business stakeholders. In order to do this you have experience within both business and IT. You have functional and technical knowledge of the T24 Core Banking system and/or Triple A. You do understand how the end user is using the system and why. You are a person who has good communicational and writing skills both in Dutch and English. You connect people and are not scared to challenge the status quo. Next to that you have knowledge of the architecture industry standards such as TOGAF, Archimate and Sparx.
