We are looking for a Development Engineer with a technical background and a “can-do” mentality who is eager to further grow as an Engineer and join our Digital Channels Business and Wealth Grid. Our Grid is part of Digital Banking services that is responsible for creating the smoothest banking experience for our commercial and private clients.
Working environment
Our teams are working on digital products and services we offer to commercial and private clients via Internet Banking Portals. Payment solutions, client onboarding flow, manage customer data, sales and service of package products are some of the challenging projects teams work on.

The atmosphere within the team and the department is open and informal. You will work in a diverse team with many different nationalities, and a good gender diversity and junior-senior ratio. We have a variety of communities and chapters where the knowledge is actively shared. Chapters are divided based on specialized skill area and you will be placed in one of the chapters. Chapters have chapter lead who will guide the chapter members to develop/enhance the skills, help with setting of development path and personal goals. Your work
You will be working on at least one of the projects like Manage Customer Data, Become a Customer, Change of Directors etc. As a backend developer you will build, test and maintain the solutions. Your work area include:
- Develop APIs that are scalable and highly performant.
- Develop and maintain BPMN/CMMN based business process.
- Create and maintain application code in Java Spring Boot and Camunda.
- Produce robust code in the Azure Cloud, or on premise.
- Work in a DevOps team with autonomy and participate proactively in team decisions.
- Work on the training and learnings path created as part of the chosen development plan.
- Collaborate with team members.
- Active participation in the relevant communities like Java, BPM, Azure etc.
Your profile
Specialized Knowledge and Experience
- 7+ years of developing software in Java with an extensive proven experience with developing REST API (using microservices) and integrations with different systems.
- 5+ years developing and managing workflow/case management solutions with an extensive proven experience with Camunda.
- Hands-on experience with Spring, Spring Boot, JPA, Hibernate, JDBC, SOAP services, Rest APIs.
- Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), version control and release management.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud and Azure DevOps is an advantage.
Skills and Competences
- Highly motivated team player who focuses on collaboration with strong communication skills and strong sense of accountability and ownership.
- DevOps mindset with excellent debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Actively seeks help and feedback but is not afraid to give feedback either.
- Knowledge of the software development lifecycle including design, configuration, testing, debugging, implementation, and support of large-scale, business-centric and process-based applications.
- Must be fluent (spoken and written) in English.
- Fluent in Dutch (advantage).
