Do you want to use your expertise and drive to help our innovation teams to build these new initiatives? And do you want to help us scale our innovative way of working through the rest of the organisation?

We are looking for an enthusiastic innovator eager to make change happen, be a catalyst of culture change to join the team for 3-6 months as an Innovation Intern.

We are witnessing novel and rapidly accelerating technological, social and political trends. All of this has important ramifications for the banking and financial services industry; from crypto- and digital currencies, to how we save, spend and invest.

As one of the major banks in the Netherlands, we embrace this change and explore how we can improve and offer new products and services that fit the needs of our customers.

One way we do that as a bank is by building new initiatives in our Innovation Lab; part of our Strategy and Innovation (S&I) department. We build these initiatives using DARE: our in-house innovation methodology. We design and support initiatives across the entire funnel: from exploration, to finding those first customers, to scaling.

We are looking for someone that is an enthusiast about corporate innovation and innovation methodologies. You are curious by heart and always testing and experimenting the best ways to get things done.

Your key activities will be:

• Working with a team of Innovation Consultants, helping to improve, set up and create design sprints for different teams within ABN AMRO.
• Applying our DARE methodology and teams in different ways, think of creating graphic designs and videos, sending newsletters, or giving presentations, trainings and events.
• Help with facilitating design sprints, workshops, or innovation activities across the bank.
• Supporting on ad hoc projects within the Innovation Process team, such as working with external parties or consultants on joints projects.
• And given the nature of the work, we will probably come up with a lot of extra, fun activities after we start working.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

• Enthusiastic about innovation, and not afraid to innovate within a regulated bank
• Strong in English in writing and speech
• Curious and creative
• Action biased, with a fewer-meetings-more-doing mindset
• You have finished your bachelor’s degree, and you are currently doing your Masters. Ideally you are in an innovation related study.

• A role allowing you to truly grow, you will do things that are new and exciting.
• An environment that allows you to discover how innovation within big organizations really works; spoiler alert – it isn’t all as smooth as in the textbooks.
• Fun and hard work, we personally believe that you do your best work when you enjoy what you do. Fun, in combination with working hard.
• A small team and individual guidance, we have a small team to make things happen, consisting of innovation enthusiasts that are optimistic and really want to make change happen. You will truly become part of our team.
• We offer you 750 EUR per month and the option to work in Amsterdam and multiple ABN AMRO offices across the Netherlands.
• The internship duration is 6 months ideally, and we can discuss starting dates or suggestions.
