Internship in Data science in Utrecht

ABN AMRO ABF is investing its effort on improving the reliability and the performances of its non-regulatory models used to monitor the goodness of the client base for both of the products offered by the company to commercial clients. The candidate will play a crucial role in this Project phase for what it concerns Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA), recalibration and/or back scoring of one of the existing models in use. The candidate will be supervised, guided, and mentored by qualified employees, of various nationalities, during the whole time period of the internship; subject to the approval of the appropriate internal committee, the results of these studies and work might be considered for use in the day-to-day business, contributing to the improvement of the effectiveness of our company to monitor timely and accurately its portfolio.
This project is mainly addressed to candidates who are about to start their endeavours for the final thesis of their master degree in the fields of econometrics, data science, finance or similar courses.

You will be working in the Risk Measurement & Modelling team of ABN AMRO ABF, a high skilled team wit modelling and portfolio specialists

You are a student in the fields of finance, econometrics, financial mathematics, with a strong passion, attitude and proven record in python programming; alternatively, you are a Data Science student with proven record or knowledge of the financial world and concepts of Credit Risk. You have a go getter attitude, while being able to work in a cooperative environment.

• Minimum HBO (or higher) level degree of education;
• Experience in both Python Programming and Finance subject, specifically Credit Risk.
• At least available 20 hours a week.
• Fluent in the English language, both spoken and written.
• Strong communication skills, with attitude to present concepts and topics in a clear, effective way and to formulate ideas and strategies based on the insight provided by the analyses performed on data.

• Driven, you strive in a fast-paced environment and you are able to both take in advices as well as suggest ways of moving forward with a task
