Enterprise Architects translate strategy to execution by connecting the dots. As a Lead Enterprise Architect Finance & Risk you are a feet-on-the ground thought leader of the Finance & Risk architecture area and accountable for the end-to-end Finance & Risk Value Streams. You advise ExBo and ELT members pro-actively on strategic and regulatory themes and steer strategy into execution via architecture.
Your job
- You are the leader of the Finance & Risk architecture area, leading functionally and guiding a team of Enterprise Architects and Lead Domain Architects. You are accountable for Architecture Development and Architecture Control activities within your architecture area
- You advise ExBo and ELT members pro-actively on strategic and regulatory themes and as such guide towards a Future Proof Bank. You are tech-savvy and as such advice on target and transitional architectures. You take part in Quarterly Portfolio Reviews (QPRs) from Enterprise Architecture perspective and steer strategy into execution to meet ABN AMRO long-term objectives
- You act at a strategic level and focus on long-term enterprise-wide alignment, including long-term architecture vision on countries and subs for your architecture area. You are a 360 advisor, both towards the businesses of Finance & Risk and towards the IT vertical
- You are accountable to have in place a target architecture on enterprise-wide level to support strategic business cases, in close alignment with priority themes. This includes the creation of an implementation architecture and the guidance of impacted value clusters, grids and blocks
- You take ownership in Application Portfolio Management by driving the simplification of the application landscape from architecture point of view.
- You coordinate and are assertive when it comes to solving dependencies or complex problems. You are able to oversee a complex stakeholder landscape and are seen by them as a trusted partner
- You follow the latest business, technology and regulatory trends and developments and determine the impact it could have on the organization. By doing so you are providing hands-on architecture leadership on complex, innovative proposals and projects

For the role of the Lead Enterprise Architect, thought leadership, in-depth knowledge on the specific architecture area and leadership skills are required; we need leaders with a passion for both business and technology.
- Demonstrated architecture leadership experiences in a complex organization with multiple business and IT lines, preferably within the specific architecture area of Risk & Finance
- Demonstrated ability to communicate to, liaise with and manage C-Level stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal skills, with proven ability to influence, engage and align people in cross-functional roles at all levels
- Demonstrated capabilities in defining and managing enterprise strategy and architecture
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (Dutch is an advantage)
- Experience with interpretations of regulations (within the financial services industry constitutes an advantage)
- Depending on knowledge or experience, we offer a salary in Hay scale 13 or 14
- The gross monthly salary displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget.
- The Benefit Budget is 11% of your salary. The Benefit Budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month.
- Five weeks of vacation per year. You have the option to purchase an additional four weeks per year.
- Personal development Budget of € 1,000 per year, which you can accumulate up to € 3,000.
