.NET + Azure Cloud DevOps Engineer
Imagine that you and your colleagues contribute to the financial performance statements of the bank. With the help of your efforts, our financial products will be correctly reflected and managed in our applications on a daily basis. This will expose you to a range of banking processes and financial products in the areas of profit and loss, reconciliations and accounting. Within the P&L and Balance Sheet Control Applications team you will play an essential role in developing and managing our applications to be ready for the challenges of today and tomorrow.
You and your job
As a .NET + Azure Cloud DevOPS Engineer with security awareness, you are responsible for the production support of our applications, for developing and managing our applications and last but not least for keeping our applications compliant from security perspective.
Our applications are used worldwide by Rabobank colleagues within various departments within the bank, such as: Product Control, Markets, Treasury and Risk Management. At this moment, most of our applications are on premise and one application is in the Cloud. Therefore it’s important to have experience and being driven to work on both technological platforms.
You play a vital role in delivering high quality products and services to our customers.
As the profile name says, your role exists out of 3 core activities:
- The development activities: You will maintain and improve processes and functionalities within our applications. On high level, the change requests/ideas for improvement will come from: the direct users of the applications; your Product Owner; your own Scrum team; Rabobank Compliance departments (with a focus on security).
- Operations activities: You will monitor our applications in production and will provide quick response/action in case of operational issues to ensure a stable production environment.
- Security activities: you will write and maintain our security documentation to ensure it is up to date; resolve vulnerabilities in our applications; and keep our applications compliant from security perspective.
Besides the development and operations core activities, it’s expected that you will contribute to business analysis and/or test activities when required. We work according to the scrum/agile methodology.

Within the P&L and Balance Sheet Control Applications team we bring talented people together to deliver reliable financial and management information to the global Wholesale & Rural business lines in a timely, efficient, and professional manner. Reliable financial information is supported by the independent daily valuation of financial instruments in the bank’s trading and banking portfolios and a comprehensive analysis/evidence of the performed controls.
Our Scrum team will consist of a group of about 6 DevOPS engineers, a Scrum Master, a Business Analyst and a Product Owner. The hands-on mentality and cooperative mind-set of our team allows for an open environment where development is stimulated and knowledge is shared. We believe that having a pleasant, respectful and fun atmosphere within the team provides a solid foundation on which we can work together and reach our goals.
Our team is part of the area of Product Control & Accounting W&R which acts as a Centre of Competence and supports various locations around the world such as Utrecht, London, New York, Sao Paulo, Hong Kong and Sydney. As part of the alignment of Rabobank’s strategy and the centralisation of these locations, this position allows exposure to different markets and optimizes the departments support model.

- 5+ years or more working experience as a Senior DevOPS engineer in complex IT landscape: On Prem and in the cloud
- HBO, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in e.g.: computer sciences
- Agile/Scrum mindset
- Fluent in English, both in speaking and writing
- You are accurate, result-oriented, proactive, independent and a team player with strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Besides the core DevOPS engineering activities, you are able and willing to do (technical) business analysis and test activities when required
- Experience with keeping systems in line with internal & industry compliancy standards
- You are aware of the developments in your profession and field of expertise, continuously seeking how to bring them to effective use in the organization
- Eager to keep learning new technologies

- Experience in or affinity with Finance and Banking is an advantage
In addition, the below knowledge and skills are essential for the role:
- Knowledge of Cloud technologies & Cloud design patterns
- Azure Certifications
- Azure Resource Manager (ARM)
- Knowledge and experience with commonly used Azure resources like Azure Data Factory, SQL server, App services, Vnets
- Knowledge and experience with PowerBI
- Azure DevOps, Yaml pipelines(CI/CD)
- You master C#, ASP.NET MVC, .Net Core and ideally Blazor
- Domain-driven design, Solid Design principle (CQRS model)
- Unit test back and front end developer
- Excellent knowledge of T-SQL
- Databases: SQL Server, good to have a knowledge on database performance tools and experience working with large databases
- Able to manage .NET applications within a Windows environment
To be considered for this position, you must be located in the Netherlands or elsewhere in the EU and have the legal right to work in the Netherlands. We are unable to consider candidates requiring relocation from another country.

- a gross monthly salary between € 4.292,- and € 6.130,- based on 36 hours per week (40 hours possible) in scale 9.
- 13th month and holiday pay: The holiday allowance and annual allowance are usually paid in 12 equal monthly installments. Once a year, employees have the option to opt for the holiday allowance to be paid out in May and the annual allowance in December.
