The Client Unit Wealth Management consists of the client segment Wealth Management Clients, the Wealth Product Unit and enabling functions: Processes & Control and Office. In addition the geographical scope spans 4 countries: The Netherlands (MeesPierson), Germany (Bethmann Bank), France (Neuflize OBC) and Belgium (ABN Amro Private Banking). We serve private customers with assets from €500,000 (High Net Worth and Ultra High Net Worth customers).

Business Development & Digital team

The Business development & Digital team is part of Segment Development and is responsible for helping Wealth Management Clients navigating the dynamic and competitive N-W European wealth management market. By understanding the fundamental needs of our customers, the opportunities for growth and the right (digital) service model we help WM achieve its growth ambition. We do this by supporting the WM Clients strategy execution (realising growth initiatives), developing winning business propositions across the 3 main Product groups Liquidity (savings), Investments and Lending and by continuously optimising our multi-channel (digital) client service model. The team has an international scope across the 4 WM countries mentioned above.

Your job

As a senior business consultant you will get the opportunity to lead the realisation of the WM growth ambitions. Focus will be on Liquidity steering, developing growth initiatives and execution of the E&E strategy.

  • Representing WM in the Liquidity pricing committee, guarding the WM commercial interests across the 4 WM franchises
  • Work closely with the E&E team and E&E leads in the countries to optimise commercial success in the execution of the strategy
  • Contribute to the WM NL and International value proposition development e.g. our ESG offering or Family mortgages
  • In alignment with the Products units, facilitate regular product dialogues to assess progress on growth plans, product related projects and impediments

Working environment

The Segment Development Team is the growth engine for Wealth Management and consists out of several teams such as Sales Execution, Risk Execution, Acquisition, CDE (via CX Principal WM), the Business Development & Digital team and Marketing. The consultants in the Business Development Team have a responsibility for all geographical areas in which WM operates (Netherlands, Germany, France and Belgium) and report to the Head of Business Development & Digital.

The team consists out of 11 business consultants and you will work in a complex and international environment, with multiple sub-segments and product units. We build the bridge between our Head-office and the local sales organisations.

Your profile

You are a team player with strong communicative skills and an entrepreneurial mindset. You like to take ownership and lead the way. You also like to collaborate with other teams across the bank including international and are not afraid to challenge the most senior stakeholders to bring new ideas on the table.

Check your profile:

  • University degree (preferably MBA)
  • Experience in Business Development, Consultancy or Strategy
  • Deep understanding of Liquidity management (balance sheet steering, funding models)
  • Good understanding of the financial industry, especially Wealth Management
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Strong communication skills (English) both verbal and written (PowerPoint)
  • High inter-cultural sensitivity and organisational awareness
  • Willingness to occasionally travel to our WM countries
