Azure AKS Kubernetes Platform Engineer

At a glance

In this role you will participate in an experienced DevOps team to build and maintain a central AKS service product in Azure that is used by a large number of IT chains to support the business processes of our bank. The platform needs to be highly available, scalable and secure which is no easy feat. You will work together with our other cloud teams and Microsoft to further develop the released service and policy sets that go with it. You will work at the centre of a modern Azure landscape that is fully policy driven and fully Infrastructure as Code, where you will have great opportunities to learn and grow.

Your job

This position is multi-faceted. You will innovate and automate an important platform within the bank (Azure Kubernetes Service and Azure Policy Development). You will also help the bank’s transition towards Azure. Together with your team, you are responsible for:

• Agile development of a secure and stable AKS platform.
• Automating everything. We aim to automate our platform as much as possible.
• Collaborating with architects and our customers to design improvements to the banks AKS ecosystem (included Containers, Repo's & Policy).
• Maintaining, monitoring the platform and Improving the platform’s performance and usability (including PCC, FLUX, Azure DevOps, Nexus Repository etc).
• Analysing and resolving any incidents on the platform.
• Supporting our internal customers. E.g. onboarding their Clusters and troubleshooting policy violations.
• Keeping and improving communication and collaboration with our stakeholders (stakeholder management)

As a Senior Azure AKS Platform Engineer we also expect you to Partake in technical initiatives to improve our services. Initiatives that have Platform and department wide focus.

Your profile

As a candidate we expect you to meet the following criteria:

• You have worked with AKS environments, and are familiar with concepts such as IaC and CI/CD.
• You have Azure knowledge in areas such as AKS, Container service, Docker and FLUX.
• You have experience in CICD using Azure DevOps, ARM templates, Biceps and Azure CLI.
• You have experience in an imperative or object-oriented programming language.
• You are experienced in building secure solutions and have security awareness including Azure Policy knowledge.
• You like to take ownership of both the development and operations of the platform.

• You are a team player with an open mindset, like to share knowledge and mentor others
• You are fluent in English and preferably Dutch
