ING is looking for an experienced Head of Regulatory Affairs for ING Group. You will play a key role to steer the regulatory and supervisory agenda of ING within the regulatory and International Affairs (RIA) corporate staff department. This department is responsible for ensuring that ING is well-positioned within the (inter) national regulatory and policy community. Our purpose is to engage in policy discussions and arrive at outcomes favourable to ING’s client and our businesses. Within RIA the Regulatory Affairs Team is responsible for monitoring and assessing upcoming EU and relevant national regulation, coordinating ING-wide horizon scanning for such (and other) upcoming regulation, aligning ING’s views on policy matters and coordinate the interaction with the relevant stakeholders.
The ideal candidate for this role will be operating in a diverse and challenging international environment, interacting with, amongst others, the EU regulator and national authorities as well as relevant business lines and functions within ING.
The most important Roles and Responsibilities include:
- Taking a leading role in managing the regulatory affairs team and ensure alignment and cooperation within the wider RIA team.
- Responsible ING Regulatory Affairs team and ensure alignment and cooperation within the wider RIA team.
- Responsible for the proper functioning of ING Regulatory bodies .
- Develop a pro-active engagement and advocacy strategy towards key stakeholders.
- Coordinate and/or draft ING positions on regulatory topics.
- Advise ING’s Board (MBB) and other ING staff, including senior management (staff and boards of ING entities) about ING's advocacy and engagement.
- Deliver externally communicated ING Viewpoints.

- Strong people manager skills, showing energy and passion.
- Mature and flexible in terms of communication and organization transformation.
- A pro-active and problem solving approach to issues.
- Good understanding of regulatory environment and priorities in the banking industry.
- Good understanding of EU policies and regulation and EU decision making processes.
- Fluent in English.
Track record / Background
- University education.
- 5-10 years of experience in Financial Regulation.
- Managerial experience.

Location
The location for this role will be Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The preferred candidate is willing to relocate to Amsterdam if not currently living in the Netherlands.
