Corporate Operational Risk Management

The Corporate Operational Risk Management (CORM) department resides in the Non-Financial Risk (NFR) domain. CORM maintains the non-financial risk framework and policies related to control and processing risks, organises and executes second line monitoring of SOx and key controls, coordinates the quarterly operational risk capital calculations, implements concrete NFR improvement initiatives, and provides direct operational risk management support to corporate support functions and ING Hubs.

Your responsibilities:

CORM continuously improves its non-financial risk framework and has launched short term improvement projects and large-scale bank wide change programs to ensure non-financial risk management in 1LoD and 2LoD becomes more digital, more data driven, more efficient and effective.

As NFR Specialist V, you will have bank-wide impact by supporting change program managers in the rollout of their improvement initiatives. One of the most important change initiatives in CORM is the delivery of the New Non-Financial Risk Dashboard (New NFRD). This is a game changer for ING as we move away from subjective risk measurement and paper reporting to data-driven measurement and more automated reporting. You will support the technical and functional design of new solutions, the model design, simulation and testing and you will work together with different stakeholders in 1LoD and 2LoD across ING on delivery rollout, developing training and supporting bank-wide communication.

Your work environment

You will operate in a challenging international environment. You will have contact with professionals within 1LoD and 2LoD across ING. You will hierarchically report to the Head of Corporate Operational Risk Management and work very closely with the New NFRD program manager.

Who you are:

  • You have a university Degree or equivalent;
  • You have work experience in an international financial institution.
  • You have experience with or have a strong interest to develop in the area of Non-Financial Risk or Operational Risk Management;
  • You have strong analytical capabilities and experience and strong affinity with IT and preferably with model development and testing;
  • Preferably you have experience with program management and modern project management techniques;
  • You are hands-on, have experience in working in multi-disciplinary environment and have k nowledge of banking business, processes, procedures and systems;
  • You have strong collaboration skills, y ou are proactive by nature, enthusiastic, critical and curious, and show a strong sense of ownership for the solutions to be implemented;
  • You are fluent in English and also have good verbal and written communication skills;
