Tribe Lead Legal ING Domestic Bank Netherlands is responsible for providing legal support to senior management and other stakeholders of ING Domestic Bank Netherlands (ING DBNL) together with a team of highly skilled legal professionals and complaint handlers.

The core tasks of this Tribe are:

- providing solicited and unsolicited advice on the legal aspects of proposed or implemented policy
- signaling and translating legal developments into daily practice
- providing general legal advice (information source)
- providing legal support for the implementation of new laws and regulations
- supporting (professional) complaints and disputes relating to ING DBNL
- conducting proceedings for ING DBNL and/or other ING units
- providing legal support for product development and review and projects
- Offering legal support in supervision cases
- Drawing up (standard) contracts and general terms and conditions
- On request, review of advertising material and prospectuses / financial information leaflets to comply with laws and regulations.

Your work environment

The Tribe Lead Legal ING DB NL reports hierarchically to the Country Manager of ING DBNL. In addition, the department works closely with the CRO department of ING DB NL (Credit Risk Management, Market Risk Management, Operational Risk Management and Compliance, Restructuring & Recovery) where the risk management of ING DBNL is implemented. The Tribe Legal is also part of the global legal function. Tribe Lead Legal ING DBNL reports functionally to the Global General Counsel.

Your team consists of highly skilled legal professionals with a wide variety of topics and areas of interest. The department also includes complaint handlers and six lawyers from the ING Law Firm.

Who are we looking for?

You are a driven and experienced People Manager and able to actively promote our Orange Code culture. You are a team player with excellent knowledge of relevant legal fields such as banking and securities law, payment transactions, consumer law, personal & family law and regulatory law. You have very good communication skills and a proven track record in dealing with senior stakeholders, who see you as a trusted advisor who gets things done.

In addition, you are a figurehead for the ING Domestic Bank organization and enthusiastically promote our Think Forward Strategy. You are able to work effectively with the other Risk Units within ING DB NL and ING's global legal function.

You also have a good knowledge of our organization's products, customer segments and services. Mastering the Dutch language in word and writing is a must. In addition, the candidate should have a very good command of the English language.

You are confident, possess a straight back, have experience in empowering employees and a good understanding of our Orange Code Culture. In addition, you actively engage in the development of your managers and employees. You see the potential of innovation and data-driven management and apply it to the legal function.

Personal Profile:

- Academic working and thinking level
- Completed studies in Dutch law
- More than 15 years of relevant work experience, of which a significant part within compliance, legal, risk, audit or at senior level
- Proven management qualities and the ability to enthuse and grow a group of professionals
- Excellent knowledge of the Dutch language
- Excellent organizational sensitivity
- Good command of English
