The Opportunity

Who we are:

You will be working as part of the Transaction & Regulatory (“T&R”) team based in Amsterdam with 8 other T&R experts. The team is responsible for providing support to the commercial Front Office teams within the Commodities, Food & Agri (“CF&A”) sector in the Netherlands, which consists of three subsectors being Trade & Commodity Finance Agri (“TCF Agri”), Food, Beverages & Agri (“FB&A) and Metals, Mining and Fertilisers (“MMF”).

The T&R team works closely with the commercial Front Office teams and plays a crucial role in delivering excellent banking services to their clients. For a T&R expert it should be the ambition to satisfy the requirement of the asking party with as little input from the Front Office as possible.

You will be working in a dynamic and diverse international team of dedicated T&R and CF&A professionals with experienced and innovative colleagues who strives for the very best.

Role and Responsibilities

At least 1 year of banking experience is highly desirable, ideally with KYC/CDD knowledge. You are a reliable and organised colleague with great attention to details and the ability to translate policies/strategies into actionable items. You can work independently, prioritise tasks, take ownership and have a ‘take it on and make it happen’ mentality. The team spirit and the willingness to assist others when necessary is essential, just as strong communication skills and excellent oral and written English.

What you will do:

• Support Front Office staff in execution of all lending and other commercial activities as well as portfolio management, including clients on-boarding, review and CDD/KYC, bilateral/syndicated transactions execution, legal documentation, portfolio and covenants monitoring, key controls implementation and adherence. You are jointly accountable with the Front Office for risk and compliance.

• Jointly with Front Office, be responsible for commercial deadlines and client satisfaction.

• Ensure alignment with policies & procedures, monitor the latest developments, engage with the stakeholders to correctly interpret and timely implement the changing internal policies and new regulations as well as timely follow up on the co-related remediation plans.

• Liaise with other departments (Risk, Compliance, Audit, Finance, etc.) with respect to regulatory projects, internal policies and compliance on an ongoing basis.

• Monitor and maintain reporting and review dates for management and risk purposes on client and portfolio level, including regular reporting and ad hoc requests.

• Drive the KYC process by liaising with the CDD analysts, gathering CDD evidence and tracking CDD deadlines; liaise on a regular basis with KYC Single Point of Contact (“SPOC”) to ensure timely reviews and coordination.

• Maintain data quality, check and analyze the accuracy and timeliness of data, identify critical data gaps, work with system owners to extract the required data and to automate the process.

• Sharing responsibility with other T&R experts, including information exchange, coaching, distribution of workload, problem solving, alignment on changing requirements and priority setting.

• Ensure appropriate communication with the stakeholders on the task progress.

• Identify additional requirements, recommend improvements / process changes.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor or Academic degree;

• At least 1 year of relevant banking experience is highly desirable, e.g. Front Office support, operations, regulatory or KYC/CDD function; ING Wholesale Banking would be preferred;

• KYC/CDD experience would be an advantage;

• Familiarity with the regulatory/lending policies applicable to ING Wholesale Banking is desirable (KYC/CDD knowledge is a big advantage);

• Relevant lending, credit and other banking product knowledge;

• Familiarity with ING’s data management, systems and stakeholders there will be an advantage;

• Ability to translate policies/strategies into actionable items, critical thinking towards the identification of gaps, inconsistencies, controversies and ability to suggest improvements;

• Very organized with high attention to details;

• Motivated to clear internal obstacles to deliver a smooth customer experience and a high quality result under pressure and in a dynamic and changing environment; ‘take it on and make it happen’ mentality;

• Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and take ownership;

• Collaborative focus, team builder and team player, strong communication and networking skills;

• Excellent oral and written English.
