We are looking for a colleague in the Group Compliance Reporting team to support management information (dashboarding - the Compliance Cockpit) and risk reporting at a Bank level. In this role you will work closely with compliance experts, business units and service centers. The role requires you to enhance and execute processes related to monthly and quarterly reporting.

The Reporting team is part of the Integrated Compliance (IC) Framework, Reporting & Innovation pillar within Group Compliance. Integrated Compliance is setup to support compliance risk professionals to execute on their daily tasks most effectively and efficiently. This part of the function lays the foundation for the way we conduct our compliance risk management globally.

The Reporting team drives our ambition towards data-driven Compliance and aims to achieve insight in global Compliance risks by creating structure in the vast amounts of unstructured data. The team enables steering, early warning signals and forward looking actions to support being in control of the function and risks. You help risk managers focus where it really matters and allow the organisation to steer on risks consistently, adequately, and timely.

Key result areas and responsibilities

  • You transform the compliance reporting organisation by leading the transition from detective reporting towards preventive reporting.

  • You support the Chief Compliance Officer and senior management in steering the business within risk appetite.

  • You coordinate the monthly reporting on compliance risks to the Management Board Banking and the quarterly reporting to the Bank Non-Financial Risk Committee, Management Board Banking, and Supervisory Board. You ensure high-quality reporting and feedback loop to enhance subsequent reporting.

  • You work with compliance experts, business units, and business lines to ensure timely and accurate delivery of data which is ultimately included in the reporting.

  • You create the yearly reporting planning, communicate it to all participants, and execute on it.

  • You take ownership for specific reporting formats such as the quarterly Compliance Risk Update (CRU). You enhance reporting templates and ensure that the (local/global) templates are being used and adjusted as needed.

  • You ensure that the team has workplace instructions and executes according to the instructions. You update the instructions as needed.

  • You are able to simplify solutions and processes and tell the story clearly to various (international) stakeholders

  • You stimulate (cross-border) interaction and alignment between people, local organization and central teams

  • You contribute to the ING One Way of Working and safeguard the Orange Code

  • You take the bigger picture into account and look beyond your direct responsibility

Your work environment

  • The Reporting team is part of the Group Compliance Integrated Compliance Framework, Reporting and Innovation department (2nd Line of Defence). Half of the Reporting team is located in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and the other half in Bucharest, Romania. This role is located in Amsterdam and you will work closely with all colleagues in the team.

Your profile

  • You have least 10 years working experience in the Financial Services industry in a senior management reporting-related role

  • You have a university degree or equivalent

  • You have an excellent level of English (verbal/written)

  • Compliance experience, particularly of financial crime risk and conduct risk, is a plus

  • You have experience/affinity with data and innovation; previous experience with key risk indicators/risk appetite statements/dashboarding/risk and control systems

  • You have a structured, disciplined approach with a focus on quality and delivery within time and budget

  • You are an energetic, motivating person who can work as part of a multidisciplinary team with a can-do mentality

  • You work independently, think and act out of the box and take accountability. You are able to make judgement calls

  • You are pragmatic and understand/willing to learn how ING’s business works

  • You are a team player, you trust others and can be trusted

  • You possess an intrinsic drive to keep improving things

  • You proactively maintain contacts with stakeholders and external parties

  • You are culturally sensitive to work in a global environment
