The job and work environment

For our Commercial Finance (“Comfin”) Customer Journey team, we are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced customer journey expert with a focus on data-delivery and analytics . Your main task in this team is to work with us to continuously improve the Comfin product offering, to make Comfin more data-driven and work with us on our data-infrastructure. Your focus lies on adding value with data for our customers, internal ING users & stakeholders and external stakeholders like regulators.

The Comfin Product Delivery team is part of ING Bank NL – Business Banking and offers services in the field of Working Capital Financing (accounts receivable, inventory and import financing). The team in which you work overlaps several segments (Business Banking, MidCorp, CC) and is responsible for product development, product management, data-delivery and innovation in relation to the Comfin products.

The role and responsibilities

Further development, improvement of Comfin data delivery & analytics, data-driven development of propositions and the customer experience are the main tasks of this position:

  • Improve the Comfin data-infrastructure to increase our ‘data-driveness’ and make data-delivery productive and predictable
  • Improve the customer experience of existing products and ensure that products and systems remain aligned with developments in the market, technological and regulatory developments.
  • Develop and implement new ways to deliver and analyse data.
  • Improve existing products, processes, and systems, including regulatory aspects.


Specific demands of this job
The position is broad, challenging and varied. You take the initiative and operate independently, but you value teamwork, connection with others and jointly achieving goals just as much. You are committed to continuously developing and/or broadening your personal expertise. You understand how to map and improve a customer/employee journey. You have affinity and hands-on experience with data-delivery, - analytics and reporting. You are highly analytical and have an affinity with IT systems. And additionally:

  • You work within a team to progress an improvement project or incremental innovation from the initial idea to market launch, including managing several stakeholders: sales, risk and compliance, IT, customers, etc.
  • You distil the strategy down to the desired data-delivery & -analytics features.
  • You contribute to keeping the Comfin products & systems compliant, in line with changing regulations.
  • You optimise the costs and manage product risks and data requirements relating to the customer, suppliers and supervisory authorities.

Who you are

  • You have a bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
  • You have at least 5 years’ experience working as a customer journey expert, product manager or data analyst at a leading financial institution at the intersection between business and IT.
  • Proven track record in the field of Factoring and stock finance is a strong advantage.
  • Proven experience in the field of business banking is an advantage.
  • You can initiate and coordinate projects and show sensitivity to the environment and an ability to rally support when doing so.
  • You know how to effectively balance the need to comply with legal and regulatory requirements with the customer’s interests. You see and discover opportunities to realise our growth ambitions.
  • You can explain complex issues in simple terms that others understand and support fully, and you use your analytical skills for this.
  • You enjoy getting results and quickly switch from analysis and reflection to concrete action.
  • You are a real team player with a positive mindset; you see opportunities.
  • You speak and write fluent Dutch and English.
