The opportunity
ING Wholesale Banking Tribe Strategy & Change is looking for a Customer Journey Expert (CJE Product Management V), to join our FI Product Management team, which is (commercial) responsible for the maintenance and development of products for our FI clients: regular banks and ‘non bank’ FI clients such as pension funds, asset mngrs and PSPs. These products range from traditional correspondent banking solutions, such as a EUR payment solution and specific FI FX solutions, to an innovative screening API solution for PSPs. This is a role in a complex global environment with many internal and external stakeholders and where there is a lot of room to develop for somebody demonstrating a proactive, self learning approach.
Job description
As CJE you are the center point between the Correspondent Banking market, FI clients and sales and other internal FI value chain parties such as CS, IM, IT and Compliance and PCM TS / PSS. The FI Product management team is the orchestrator of the FI value chain and as such you need to handle issues related to commercial, risk, CS and IT topics. Besides you need to drive necessary product maintenance or product development work.
Project management and business analysis work form an integral part of your daily operations. You will be responsible for:
- driving the delivery of relevant product change (maintenance or new development); defining and prioritizing of product roadmaps in close co-operation with the WB TS Tribes / PSS
- deliver business cases for new FI products / channels / APIs, based on data driven analyses and monitoring the (financial) results
- taking up the FI stream lead role in ING’s NextGen program, covering FI interests in the program, coordinate with key stakeholders and manage (client) communication and ensure timely delivery of FI deliverables
- taking ownership of risk management of FI products that are in your scope and responsible for keeping commercial documentation up to date
- Day to day handling of issues related to the products or happening in the value chain
- Identifying and resolving process / system improvements to enhance customer experience and team productivity
- Explore and develop a detailed understanding of external developments or emerging issues and assess their impact on the FI products.
- Continuously liaising with involved stakeholders such as FI PCM Sales, TS Tribes, CSD, WB Tech (DevOps teams), Legal, Compliance, FM, etc.
- Maximizing the FI PCM product P&L
Your work environment
The team of 4 FTE (+1 external) is responsible for managing the commercial product needs of FIs (banks) and so-called Non Bank FIs (pension funds, asset managers, PSPs) and support the FI TS Sales force in developing tailor made solutions for FI’s. The FI market in which you will work is a global, professional and heavy regulated market. This requires continuous knowledge gathering and understanding of the market infrastructures and practices, developments, regulations etc. The team operates from Amsterdam.
Skills required
- Proactive and eager to (further) build up knowledge of the (FI) PCM business (FI Payments experience is preferred but not required)
- Ambitious and enthusiastic mindset to further strengthen the FI product proposition and delivery
- Strong focus on execution and delivery – getting things done mentality
- Strong business analysis skills, attention to detail, hands on; able to clearly structure and (commercially) present analysis outcomes
- Proven track record in project or product management
- Able to work independently while also helping others in performing necessary actions to achieve results
- Challenge and improves own work and that of colleagues continuously
- Strong interpersonal and communication (orally and in writing) skills
- Commercial mindset, able to spot and identify business opportunity where and whenever required
- Above average proficiency in English
