The Opportunity

The Distribution Sales team is ING’s face to the market for all transactions where loans and loan- based products are distributed to the wider investor community. Types of transactions include primary loan syndications, secondary loan sales as well as the establishment of partnerships with investors that support our sectors and lending origination efforts. As a team we are responsible for a unified and integrated investor coverage up to CIO level, managing the relationship and loan sales transaction towards investors. Success is defined both by the number of well executed transactions we do and by the quality of market insight we can share with our stakeholders.

The Distribution Sales team is located across 5 global hubs (Amsterdam, Brussels, London, New York & Singapore). We work closely with our Capital Velocity partners (Loan Capital Markets, Balance Sheet Distribution and Credit Portfolio Group) and Sectors & Lending (origination teams). Our team takes ownership of the sales strategy and sales execution of loan based assets as well as providing our partners with valuable market insight during the structuring and distribution process. We are also continuously aligned with our coverage partners (FM Institutions Sales team and Financial Institutions Sector coverage) to ensure the investor community receives a consistent ING experience. We report to the Global Head of Institutional Sales and Distribution.

Role & Responsibilities

On a daily basis we manage relationships and transactions with investors and provide market intelligence to loan origination and loan capital market teams. The Analyst/Associate Loan Sales Professional will support the wider team to reach the common goals.

  • For syndicated loans, secondary loan sales & structured partnerships :

Become knowledgeable of and share in the responsibility for sale of full suite of loan-based products across the bank and non-bank financial institutions (NBFI) investor base. Work together assisting the team to help guarantee a smooth process from pre-mandate to closing. Assist in producing required liquidity analysis, help ensure timely and accurate communication, assist in bringing together pockets of feedback to develop a market view, ensure investor information needs are met and actively assist in monitoring the progress of the syndication process. Personally responsible for data collection and activity based reporting.

  • For providing market insight to internal stakeholders:

Ensure product, portfolio and relevant market intelligence is collected and structured, so that intelligence is available to manage investor relationships. Join in dialogue with investors (banks & NBFI’s) across different loan-based products and distribution formats, deliver market soundings, institutionalizing individual and market knowledge for specific loan types, sectors, asset classes and structures. Ultimately you contribute to steer ING origination activity by internally sharing distribution potential.

Candidate Profile

  • You have a minimum of 2 years work experience working with loan products in a wholesale banking setting.

  • You are fluent in English and speak at least one other language.

  • You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
