We are looking for a SAS Viya Engineer to become part of the Modelling & Analytics Chapter within TECH / Group Services to work in the COO Risk, Management Reporting & Analytics (MR&A) department
How are we organised?
Within COO Risk, the objective of the Management Reporting & Analytics (MR&A) department is to automate, standardize, visualize risk data needed for the different internal and regulatory stakeholders by providing them fit for purpose data marts and reports
As a SAS Viya Engineer you will be part of the Posidonius squad. The Posidonius squad is a multidisciplinary team of curious people, open to new solutions, willing to share and communicate that offers a complete onboarding experience to all risk and finance teams involved in any step of the Model Life Cycle who need cutting edge technology made available to them in an accessible way in order to take their work to a higher level.
The purpose is to onboard users to the Exploration environment on SAS Viya in ING of the ModelING Platform allowing them to make the most of its capabilities while completing their tasks in respect of all regulations and methodology standards and improving the standard and quality of the Model Life Cycle implemented in ING. We envision a more efficient modelling community that delivers faster and better results
Other than providing the standard vendor-based trainings, we focus on user needs to provide tailor-made and advice with pros and con’s of the solution. We aim to play a role in making such a transition fast, smooth, and effortless.

The SAS Viya Engineer
As a SAS Viya Engineer you will be part of the Posidonius squad. squad and in that role you will be responsible for re-creation of parameter estimation models and re-package legacy modules into CAS actions.
What will you do? What are you responsible for?
- Participate in the technical re-creation of parameter estimation models created in SAS EG, EM, Python on the Viya 3.5 environments
- Re-package legacy ING modules (SAS, Python, etc.) into CAS Actions.
- Requirement’s analysis and designing system specification
- Better customer experience by supporting end-users
- Guiding end users in model development and model validation on SAS Viya
Your profile
- Key competences: team player, agile, eager-to-learn, problem-solving, open minded, abstract thinking
- Strong proficiency in SAS VIYA 3.5
- Proficiency in SAS Studio and CAS actions.
- Understanding of Viya tooling for modelling (VDMML, Model Studio, RDM, …)
- Basic understanding of Regulatory Parameter Estimation Models (PD, LGD, EAD, M) at financial institutions
- Good presentation skills, ability to explain complex ideas to non-technical users, enjoy sharing knowledge by handling workshops and preparing documentation
- Basic knowledge of relational databases and data warehousing (e.g. Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL) – preference
- Great English communication skills, verbal as well as written
- Eager to learn what does not know
