Senior Data Engineer - Transformation - WB Tech Lending Client Offering & Investors

We are looking for a strong engineer technically passionate, solution-focused and able to contribute to design, development, test automation and hardening (security, stability, deployment) of lending platform.

Your role and work environment

You work within the Wholesale Banking Global Tribe Lending. The purpose of our Tribe: “Create a fast, seamless, personalized & data driven digital Lending Xperience”! For borrowers, ING employees, investors and regulators. The Tribe is responsible for easy, reliable and controlled processes for getting lending products (e.g. loans) and managing those products. Also the distribution of the products to lenders and investors (amongst others syndications) is part of the scope. Our clients are spread across 40 countries; we are converging to one way of serving our clients, delivering an uniform client experience across countries..

Necessary skillset for the Data Engineer role is:

• Thorough understanding of following:
  • Data warehousing & OLTP environments
  • Data modelling techniques
  • Normalization
  • Entity relationship diagram
• Experience on MSSQL, Oracle RDBMS, tables, views, indexing, tuning and data types
• Data Analysis and cleansing techniques
• Advanced skills of SQL (analytical functions etc.)
• Experience on data architecture
• Experience on ETL processes and design
• Experience on Scrum methodology
• Agile way of working
• Ability to communicate effectively and present/demo ideas and solutions
• Keen on documenting her/his work

Would be good to have:

• Knowledge on Linux OS/shell scripting
• Experience on CI/CD pipeline and relevant tools such Azure DevOps, Ansible, Git
• Knowledge of PLSQL or similar database development language
• Capable of solving complex problems

Expected work / activities:

• As a lead data engineer, you need to work with multiple squads and advice teams based on their data engineering requirements.
• Need to work on diverse technologies (Oracle, MS SQL, Kafka)
• Lead the data migration from legacy monolithic application towards Rest API based application – design, decide and implement (if required also ETL tools such as ODI, Golden gate)
• Need to work closely with CJEs to understand the business processes and create data modelling / mappings.
