Senior Financial Risk Specialist
We are looking for a Senior Financial Risk Specialist to join the Asset Based Finance (ABF) team within Risk Domestic Bank Netherlands Transaction Approval & Advice (Risk DB NL TA&A).
The RISK DB NL TA&A team is responsible for managing credit risks of business clients within ING Netherlands and play a pivotal role in the lending process.
We contribute to the results of ING by safeguarding a balanced loan portfolio and assist in taking acceptable (credit) risks. We specially focus on advising and approving credit transactions for asset based finance. Furthermore, we strive to monitor our portfolio and corresponding risk costs in a data driven manner.
What are you going to do?
The ABF team is responsible for Mid-corporates and prospects of ING with a complex product/financing need, which include use of factoring- and leaseproducts. ING has a strong growth ambition for ABF.
You will independently or in collaboration with colleagues advise and/or decide on credit applications in close cooperation with other ING departments. In doing this, you will have daily contact with the front office teams, who are responsible for the origination of the transaction, and involved specialists like Auditors.
You will advise regarding indicative proposals and give on time direction regarding financing structures, our risk appetite and risk/reward. You will challenge Front office proposals and take care to take acceptable credit risks. On occasion and when relevant from a credit risk perspective, you will visit business clients together with your front office colleagues. The experience you gain while assessing individual credit applications is valuable for other teams within ING as well as important input for data driven decision making.
You will use your knowledge to contribute to the Credit Risk Policy by amongst others Portfolio Analysis, but you are also prepared to put your knowledge and experience within ING to improve the lending process from a client perspective.
Your work environment
The ABF team consists of 5 Financial Risk Specialists, all with different backgrounds. We work in hybrid mode at home as well as in our offices in Amsterdam and Bunnik. Our team is client focused, transactional-driven, self-steering and flexible.
The role as a senior financial risk specialist will offer you the ability in relative short time to extend and deepen your substantive knowledge regarding credit analysis, business models, lending products and lending structures in a dynamic environment. The central role within ING will give you an entrance to a wide network within front office and risk management and a lot of options to enlarge this. Furthermore you are requested to develop your skills in coaching and management.

Furthermore we request:
- Master’s degree;
- Excellent analytical skills;
- Minimum of 5-10 year relevant experience within credit risk management or a commercial job within a financial institute;
- Beside in-depth knowledge of general lending also expertise and experience with respect to factoring- and/or lease products;
- To contribute to renew our way of working, approval process and policy. Think about increasing usage of data for approvals, to digitalize processes and to judge new lending products;
- The ability and skills to be an inspiring coach for (junior) colleagues and the right managerial competences to further develop within or outside RISK DB NL TA&A
