The IT area of Core Bank NL is responsible for creating, maintaining and improving our reliable Account Management System (AMS) of the bank, used for current-accounts, savings and loans accounts. We call it the beating heart of the bank: it processes millions of transactions a day on our current-accounts, savings and loans accounts. High availability and performance is there for crucial for us. An important goal is realizing a real-time bank which is 24/7 available for all our customers.

What are you going to do?

You will enter a challenging environment where they work according to Agile/Scrum/DevOps methodologies. Your main tasks involve:

• Maintaining, configuring and supporting LCM of a diverse technology stack
• Being responsible for setting standards and guidelines around running the platform
• Responsible for configuring firewall and network segmentation rules & governance around them
• Containerizing the environment
• Creating Ansible Playbooks
• Exploring and introducing new technologies and possibilities to improve the current stack to help business meet its needs
• Taking a bird’s eye view on the full stack and proposing architectural solutions

Requirements

• You are outgoing, sociable and a good team player
• You speak up and are not afraid to confront people when needed
• You speak Dutch and/or English
• You have strong analytical skills and an automation mind-set
• You have at least a completed bachelor’s degree. You are a well experienced (10+ years) senior DevOps engineer capable of looking at the full stack from a bird’s eye view
• You understand the enterprise architecture and the vision of the organization and can translate it to squad’s purpose and goals
• You are able to think along with other senior engineers and architects and are able to influence and steer platform-design decisions for the entire IT stack
• You are experienced with mentoring and training junior engineers and always want to help others succeed.
• You instinctively think about design and architectural impact and come up with structural solutions to tackle a given problem
• You have at least 5 years of experience working with middleware components such as MQ, EMS & Tibco
• You have worked with current cloud technologies like AWS, Azure DevOps etc.
• You have work experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• You are experienced and comfortable with Bash, Python, Java or other high level scripting languages
• Knowledge and experience with ELK
• You have knowledge of CI/CD practices, use of Azure DevOps is a pre.

Organization

You will work at a large and challenging financial organization with offices in the Netherlands. You work within the domain that is responsible for managing, maintaining and running the core bank operations of the bank. The main purpose of this domain is to act as the system of record for customer transactions, balances and accounts.
