Your job
You combine financial expertise with banking knowledge to challenge and advise on senior management level.
You work as a group analyst with focus on costs both on actual and future multi-year performance. You are analyzing the financial performance of the bank and the different segments, translating this analysis into clear conclusions and recommendations to senior management. You deliver powerful analysis as part of the monthly closing, quarterly updates and long-term financial plan.
You are able to manage projects on your own with effective stakeholder management. You can work and deliver independently and are able to adhere to short deadlines.
You have a clear view on segments and Group cost levels to provide recommendations on targets, delivery on strategic savings initiatives and are able to challenge business cases.
You are able to think strategically (“connecting the dots” on bank-wide topics) while at the same time having a good eye for detail. You are able to write powerful and clear messaging to senior management while at the same time having a hands-on attitude dealing with finance tooling.
Working environment
You work in the Corporate Planning & Control team, which is part of Finance Controlling. The team is around 18 people and consists of young, ambitious professionals combined with experienced seniors and a leadership team that strongly believes in personal development. We have an open and trusted atmosphere with strong and fun team work in order to deliver high quality products to senior management. Given our central role in the management control cycle of ABN AMRO we work in close contact with other departments such as business CFOs, ALM, Investor Relations, Corporate Strategy and Risk Management.
You will join an environment of continuous learning both on a professional and personal level. You will get detailed insights in the strategy and financial performance of the bank and its business drivers with exposure to senior management.
Your profile
- Economics and /or Business administration at Master level or a similar post-graduate training
- 5-10 years relevant working experience
- Fluent English, Dutch is a plus
- You are driven and enthusiastic team player who strives to deliver high quality and has a strong sense of responsibility
- Strong analytical, financial and writing skills
- You think strategically but at the same time do not lose eye for the detail
- You are able to work independently and pro-actively anticipating client needs
- You have strong communication skills and are able to build trust in a senior environment
- You are curious and eager to learn beyond your own areas of responsibility
- You are able to tell the story behind the figures
- You are able to deliver strategic and financial advice to senior management
- You are able to coach less experienced colleagues to improve their learning curve
