ING is looking for an experienced (Dev)Ops (Data) Engineer within the Document & Content Services (D&CS) domain for the squad Data Quality & Retention (DQ&R).
Within ING Domestic Bank Netherlands, D&CS is responsible for the development and maintenance of all applications regarding document composition, digital communication (Inbox, SMS, email), print management, scanning, data capture and archiving. D&CS is constantly building on the state-of-the-art Customer Communication experience to enable our strategic ambitions. A challenging mission based on technologies where Java, .NET and a diversity of COTS products are needed to deliver an integrated customer solution.
Your work environment
In this role as (Dev)Ops (Data) Engineer you will be part of the DQ&R DevOps squad. The purpose of this squad is two-fold:
- Ensuring a correct and compliant Archive NL
- Maintaining and further developing the Customer Content API
Job Description
You, as a DQ&R (Dev)Ops (Data) Engineer, will work with your squad members to:
- Continuously and creatively look for possibilities to improve the Data quality of Archive NL and implement/guard the needed retention mechanisms
- Ensure all environments are adequately managed and fit for purpose and use. This includes both the daily maintenance activities as well as LifeCycle management.
- Support connectors on our Customer Content API (testing etc.)
- Create and maintain dashboards/alerting/tools for monitoring data quality and retention
- Automate manual activities (queries, data analysis) as much as possible via pipelines.
- Doing patching (mainly Linux) and using automated continuous delivery pipeline (ADO) to do software releases.
- Fully contribute to improving the DQ&R squad ’ s processes whilst also ensuring all mandatory requirements such as IT risk control, change control etc. are adhered to.
- Work on Risk related controls such as Security Monitoring, Identity and Access Management, Change Management, Platform Security and more.
- Attend daily, weekly and bi-weekly meetings with the DQ&R squad.
- Willingness to do on-call shifts.
- Initiate improvements and be proactively engaged in the teams Scrum ceremonies.
- Find new, not yet known approaches, to improve the Data quality of the NL Archive
Experience and Skills
- Excellent knowledge of Databases, Archiving and Retention concepts
- Hands-on experience with Data query and analysis techniques and tooling (SQL, Oracle, DBaaS, …)
- Knowledge of Linux, Networks, Pipeline automation, Azure DevOps, Git, Scripting, Risk Management (e.g. solving vulnerabilities), Setting up monitoring.
- Experience in systems- and application management and preferably also with COTS applications .
- G ood written and verbal communication skills (English).
- Team player who has a focus on aligning personal tasks with overall team objectives.
- Excellent analysis and problem solving skills; you are curious, you challenge the status quo and take initiatives to find out how things work even if you have to do this on your own.
- You are someone who likes to roll up your sleeves.
Desired
- Knowledge and Hands-on experience with Documentum (OpenText)
- Understanding and speaking Dutch is a plus .
