
Desk Head Trader Govt Bond Repo/GSF
The Opportunity

The Team
You will be responsible for the management and trading of the European Govt Bond Repo desk in Amsterdam ( EGB ) for Global Securities Finance (GSF). You will join the existing team of 2 traders locally, and 6 traders regionally. You will drive the strategy and vision of the desk, working inline with regional and functional management. You will grow and build upon the strong and existing product, reporting into the EMEA/APAC Head of Repo trading.
Role and Responsibilities

Manage the EGB repo trading desk.

Trade the daily flow, including hedging strategies, and collateral management.

Manage the credit risk, market risk, balance sheet and regulatory requirements, in Amsterdam.

Co-ordinate the daily flow across the Financial Markets Global sales teams.

Work closely with key internal stakeholders to develop electronic platform trading.

Co-ordinate and liaise with existing client franchise.
Oversee the preparation of key analyses

Performs continuing risk analyses.

Analyses potential trading opportunities and structures.

Evaluates financial products.

Examines external trends and market information.

Evaluates regulatory impact and planning for changes.

As the head trader for GSF EGB Repo you will also need:

Masters degree (commercial engineer, econometry, statistics, computer sciences…) or equivalent through experience

CFA preferred
-
To be fluent in English

A minimum of 10 years of experience in Financial Markets

Strong understanding of European cash markets.

Strong knowledge of pricing methods / risk analysis

Strong knowledge of all Repo trading products
-
Advanced knowledge of Repo trading systems / platforms
-
To be a team leader with good interpersonal and communication skills
-
Ability to respond to fast-changing situations.

Ability to make decisions with a significant financial impact (profit or loss) in stressful situations and under great pressure of time

Demonstrate alertness and ability to respond quickly to changing market conditions and volatility
