ING Financial Markets is looking for a Head of FM Istanbul to lead the local FM franchise. (Based in Istanbul - Turkey)

The Opportunity

“Head of Financial Markets ( Turkey )” position is responsible for trading and sales of financial markets products, and reports hierarchically to the Head of Wholesale Banking ( Turkey ), and functionally to the Head of Financial Markets CEE.

The Head is responsible for:

managing foreign exchange risk and interest risk generated by the clients’ business and own (bank’s) risk positions to provide the best quality pricing to customers and maximise revenue on financial risk bearing exposures, and managing trading teams, managing sales teams responsible for marketing, sales of financial markets products to Wholesale Banking as well as Business Banking clients, development of structured solutions for sophisticated clients with sustainable and long-term relationships, creating value for customers in FX, Rates and Commodities markets in line with client suitability; developing, directing, coordinating and controlling financial markets related business strategies, commercial activities, financial and non-financial risks, development of the teams.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Financial Markets strategies for ING Turkey (aligned with ING Group strategies) with a focus on growing client portfolios, underlying business revenues and balancing returns and risks

  • Identify market, sector and technological trends and developments and propose / implement new ideas to address these trends and developments

  • Develop digitalization plans with local and global resources and capabilities with focus on ensuring high level client satisfaction, growing/diversifying client base and improving efficiency

  • Lead and give direction to sophisticated teams that are responsible for managing financial markets trading activities and sales of financial markets products to Turkish blue-chip and multinational clients as well as responsible mid-corporate/SME clients

  • Develop and implement new financial products to service clients and manage financial risk in trading books

  • Grow the business of FX, IR and commodity derivatives for corporate client portfolio

  • Connect ING’s global capabilities to local clients in a way to create value for clients

  • Management of financial and non-financial risks while growing financial markets businesses

  • Represent the highest level of integrity and obedience to laws, regulations and internal policies


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from Administrative Sciences, Economics, Finance, Engineering or other relevant fields; advance degree preferred

  • Excellent level English both written and verbal


Experience

  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in financial markets,

  • Understanding and performing trading activities on interbank market

Competencies

  • Demonstrating high levels of client focus with high personal drive and commitment

  • Strategic mindset with high level of market products knowledge as well as financial markets rules, code of conduct and regulatory dynamics

  • Commercial and strategic mindset coupled with execution skills

  • Leadership skills and experience with demonstrated ability to drive sophisticated teams active on financial markets to execute and deliver financial results

  • Strong team and stakeholder management skills to build connections internally and externally at the country, regional and global levels

  • Demonstrating effective listening skills together with curious and courageous questioning skills

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, and result-oriented team-player with ability to achieve goals while overcoming obstacles and/or planning for contingencies

  • Strong presentation, negotiation and influence skills

  • Reuters/Bloomberg literate

  • Good command of MS office programs especially MS Excel and Power Point
