
Senior Customer Tax Compliance officer
ING Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) is looking for a Senior Tax Compliance Officer within the Customer Tax Compliance (CTC) team within Group Compliance (2nd line of defense).
The ideal candidate will preferably have expert knowledge or affinity with FATCA/CRS from a regulation perspective. An interest in other customer tax related topics as listed below will also be an advantage. You will have a strong compliance / risk mindset with proven experience.
Your work environment
The CTC team is responsible for advising on international customer tax laws and regulations including but not limited to: US Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), OECD Common Reporting Standard (CRS), US withholding tax and information reporting (including QI regime), Mandatory Disclosure Rules (EU Directive DAC6). Broader, also the societal focus on (customer) tax integrity is a domain in which CTC is active together with the FCC AML team.
The team is responsible for all regulatory matters for customer tax across ING’s global network and works with a wide range of internal/external stakeholders. The team is actively engaged with Compliance change initiatives and taking responsibility/steer for CTC. Next to working as a specialist it is possible to work on more general topics within the team or to work with colleagues outside of the team on other related financial economic crime topics. We consider this role a pivotal role given the links with social responsibility.
What you will do as Senior Customer Tax Compliance Officer

Using your knowledge of international customer tax regulation requirements, along with an understanding of INGs risk appetite create / maintain ING bank-wide policies and associated documentation with respect to FATCA/CRS/MDR.

Advise senior management and business line/local Compliance on FATCA/CRS/MDR related risks and requirements and keep them informed on developments in this area.

Investigate, advise and challenge the identification, documentation and assessment of the FATCA/CRS/MDR compliance risks associated with ING’s activities across ING’s footprint.

Work together with various stakeholders (internal and external) and seeking the right balance between the various interests.

Deepen organizational knowledge on customer tax compliance by developing and providing training & awareness across our global network.

Contribute to or lead change (sub-)projects in the fields of Non-Financial Risk and Compliance.

Contribute to in control for the domains you are responsible for.
How to succeed

You have a good understanding of the compliance framework and the responsibilities of a second line of defense team. A background in tax is a plus.

Experience & skills

Around 10 years of experience preferably in the (international) Compliance / financial crime Compliance domain and/or in tax advise

Knowledge of the quoted regulations is an advantage

Expert level of English (verbal/written)

You are a good team player and know how to make impact

Knowledge and understanding of banking business in general is an advantage
