Global Product Manager – Global relationship manager/ Strategic Partnerships

A team-player, passionate about the cards and payments who enjoys working in an international multi-disciplinary environment. Committed to managing ING partnerships with International Cards Schemes, as well as with other strategic partners to help grow the payments business across ING countries

Job description

Under the guidance of a senior global relationship manager, you will manage the strategic and commercial relationship with VISA, Mastercard and other key payments partners at the ING Group level. You will optimize value from the partnerships through proper governance and efficient relationship management. You will help develop the overall ING position towards the strategic partner in line with the ING Payments Strategy. You will support ING business lines in negotiation and commercial execution of the Global Framework Agreements with both schemes; will act as SPOC for all partner-related knowledge and support the payments business units in everyday activities and strategic projects with the partners.

Together with colleagues, you will further help professionalize, harmonize and improve supporting activities in the portfolio management-, finance-, risk-, compliance- and service level management domains to ensure top quality of the ING strategic partnership management.

What are you going to do? You will be…

  • Part of the Payments Centre tribe, an international ING team of Payments professionals;
  • Developing and executing the ING Payments Strategy;
  • Building and updating financial models to manage ING card portfolio split on the group level;
  • Tracking on ING cards portfolio development to optimise the related cost and incentives pay-outs;
  • Managing Visa and MC working groups to ensure efficient execution of Global Framework agreements for issuing and acquiring with both schemes;
  • Creating synergy by leading people from different backgrounds and facilitating their cooperation within ING as well as with ING external partners;
  • Managing partnerships and contracts with payment schemes, supplies and big-tech partners;
  • Helping to develop joint and standardised payments services across ING;
  • Supporting new feature experiments to capture technical and/or customer learnings;
  • Supporting other (product manager) colleagues in e.g. Payments Metrics, PSD2 XS2A and Cards Issuing topics;

Your profile

You are a team player, comfortable working in a changing and international environment and with different disciplines such as Product, Channel, Marketing, IT, Legal and Risk. You are action-oriented and delivery-focused. You are talented in qualitative and quantitative analysis with a passion for data, which you use to solve problems. You transfer data into tangible decisions that are usually easy to understand for other people and help keep them engaged in the project, even if some do not have a data-driven mindset. You have an agile mindset, and you are proactively looking for opportunities to help develop joint and standardized payments services across ING to bring a value for our clients.

Skills required

  • Master’s degree
  • 8+ years of work experience with 4+ years in cards and payments
  • Proven experience managing relationships with third party vendors and key partners
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong project management skills and ability to present work to stakeholders
  • Leading without authority and excellent proven stakeholder management skills
  • Experience with Agile way of working and agile mindset
  • Fluent in English as well as in at least one other European language. Dutch is an advantage
