ING is looking for a Java Backend Engineer for a DevOps team within the Fraud & 1:1 Analytics tribe.

We are looking for a Java Backend Engineer who is passionate about coding and IT Security. Does providing a continuously secure and customer friendly banking environment to millions of customers sound interesting to you? Please read on!

Working environment

For the Fraud part of our tribe, we are looking for a Java Backend Engineer. We create and maintain a safe and customer friendly banking environment on a global level and provide authentication and authorization means for our customers. Working at our tribe means working within a professional, dynamic and complex environment. There is a lot of room for innovation, quality is key and the solutions are always customer-orientated. You will be working in our office in Amsterdam Zuid-Oost and for one or more days per week from home.

The job
You will be working in a Bus-Dev-Ops squad working on customer authentication and authorization at a global level. This means working on cross border solutions and providing services to ING worldwide. The average squad consists of developers, ops engineers, customer journey experts and a product owner. As a team you are end-to-end responsible for the customer journey you are working on. You own the stack and the journey!

Your daily work will consist of:

  • Refinement of story's
  • Coding
  • Reviewing
  • Testing (Automated)
  • Building and deploying
  • Monitoring

What do we expect from you?
First and foremost, you need to be a strong coder and you need to have a interest in IT security. You have to be a true team player. You speak up, are transparent and not shy to stand up for your own opinions. You have an instinctive need to share knowledge and continuously improve yourself and the team.

Required skills (must haves):

  • Java (5+ years), Spring(Boot)
  • Secure and clean coding (OWASP, Fortify, Sonar, etc.)
  • Architectural experience and you know how to design API's
  • Advanced Security knowledge
  • Git
  • Azure DevOps
  • Maven

Nice to have experiences:

  • Cassandra
  • Oracle DB
  • Performance testing
  • Working in a bank environment
  • Microsoft Azure pipeline
  • Ansible
  • HTML/CSS/Javascript
  • Linux
  • Docker
  • Java certification
