Location: Financial Crime Compliance – Group Compliance (Amsterdam)

Job type: 36-40 hours

ING is looking for a committed business manager supporting the global head of Financial Crime Compliance (GHFCC). The GHFCCC operates at Board-2 level and reports to the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO). In this role you will support the GHFCC on all relevant priorities and projects across the global Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) function. You will functionally report to the GHFCC and you will hierarchically report to the head of FCC Support & Change.

Job description

  • Support and advise the GHFCC in the performance of day-to-day activities. You represent the GHFCC at a tactical/operational level.

  • Co-responsible for the coordination of the Financial Economic Crime (FEC) topics on the CCO/Executive Board (EB)/Management Board Banking (MBB)/Supervisory Board (SB) agenda and be the liaison for the CCO/EB/MBB/SB FCC related matters, in cooperation with the business managers of the deputy GHFCC and the CCO.

  • Ensure the quality and optimisation of management and/or control information regarding the FCC department's operations, in cooperation with the business manager of the deputy GHFCC.

  • Coordinate communications on FCC topics and steering towards the integration of the Compliance departments in the business lines and countries and the central FCC team within Compliance in order to truly run a globally integrated and functionally steered FCC organisation.

  • Highlight governance, strategy and operational opportunities and suggest improvements for the FCC department.

  • Act as a linking pin with other departments and business lines, and initiating actions. You develop and maintain new networks within and outside the ING organisation and, in doing so, create opportunities.

  • Prepare and attend FCC management team meetings with the purpose of ensuring follow-up and execution of identified next steps.

  • Manage human resources, finance and department’s operational matters in close collaboration with the Head of FCC Support & Change and the business managers of the deputy GHFCC and the CCO.

  • Act as an ambassador of FCC. Welcome FCC new joiners and help getting them up to speed jointly with their Leads. FCC new and existing staff consider you as the fount of all ING/Group Compliance/FCC organisational knowledge.

Your work environment

You will be operating in a challenging and constantly changing environment whereby you will be supporting the GHFCC and the direct and functional reports in the various departments within FCC composed of diverse teams of cross-border risk professionals. You are the linking pin between the GHFCC, the direct and functional reports (being the FCC management team/group), other stakeholders in Group Compliance, ING’s senior management and their business managers within the first, second and third line of defense departments.

Personal profile

  • Master degree or similar experience in business administration, banking and/or change management.

  • Demonstrated programme ownership or business-/project management experience.

  • Understanding of industry best practices.

  • Autonomous, yet highly collaborative.

  • Be able to interact with all types of stakeholders like senior management of different levels.

  • Be able to quickly adapt.

  • Very high proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills in English (Dutch will be an advantage).

  • Resilient, able to handle multiple priorities and deadlines. Optimistic and flexible.

  • Result oriented. Have or create a network to attributing to the team’s effectiveness.

  • Project management, organisational skills, follow through and attention for the detail.
