
Capital Structuring & Advisory (CS&A) – VP level
The Opportunity
ING Wholesale Banking is looking for a VP for its CS&A team in Amsterdam.
In this job you will play an active role in the origination, structuring and execution of often complex and innovative financing solutions (involving loans, bonds, equity, working capital solutions, and associated hedging solutions) generally in event-driven (M&A or other strategic events) situations and/or as Debt Advisor to our clients. You will also closely work together with Sustainable Finance and Sustainable Markets (e.g. Green/ESG bonds), Sector Coverage and Products teams on supporting our clients with financing and advisory solutions in their energy transition pathway.
It is CS&A’s mission to provide clear value and complement the strengths of various Sector Coverage teams, and Products (Lending, Financial Markets, M&A, ECM, DCM, Corporate Investments, Transaction Services) by providing integrated solutions, including credit ratings advisory, debt advisor, and various types of financial analysis (e.g. financial modelling, debt capacity, liquidity, peer analysis, etc.) to engage with clients in a consultative and product-neutral way.
Roles and Responsibilities

Jointly work with colleagues within Sector Coverage and Products on the marketing/co-origination and execution of a wide range of financing, advisory and hedging solutions;

Coordinating the preparation of presentations/pitch books regarding integrated debt (bonds, loans), (quasi) equity and hedging solutions;

Day-to-day execution lead in Debt Advisory engagements;

Frequent client contact, mostly in the marketing and structuring phases of transactions, and during debt advisory mandates;

Overseeing complex financial models and quality stamping/ assuming responsibility for different output generated by junior staff (i.e. presentations, financial analysis and peer analyses);

Share best practices (transactions, ideas, themes, etc.) across the global (CS&A) platform.
Your work environment
CS&A consists of teams in Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, Madrid, New York, Paris, Singapore, with a Ratings Advisory unit in London, New York and Singapore. The teams are involved in high profile transactions with significant internal and public (press) exposure. CS&A acts product neutral, together with the relationship banker and various Product specialists.
Your profile
Knowledge and experience:

At least 6 years of work experience in a transaction driven environment;

Education:university degree, fluent in English;

You have a profound understanding of a wholesale banking organization, strong client facing skills, and have and in-depth knowledge of one (or preferably) more of the following products, i.e. (Structured) Lending, Debt and Equity Capital Markets, Financial Markets, M&A, Debt Advisory, Equity-like and junior/mezzanine financing;

Strong credit and financial modelling skills are a must;

You are a true team player, who knows that combining the strengths from the various business lines will improve the client offering;
