In in the area of ING GS CS Enterprise Content Services we are looking for an IT Operations Engineer who can work in a multidisciplinary team and have the responsibility for guaranteeing the operational stability and availability of the applications in the area.

ING Tech supports all commercial activities for retail and commercial banking as well as corporate staff by providing the necessary IT systems and infrastructure to do this. Group Services is one of the Tech domains and supports corporate staff such as Finance, Risk, HR, Corporate Communications, Corporate Real Estate and Facility Services and Procurement. Group Services is changing into a global organization, supporting the services of the bank that are offered bank wide such as KYC .

Job description

You are a driven IT specialist with excellent analytical skills. You are ambitious with what you want your DevOps team to achieve, and you bring positive energy to the team. You have a continuous improvement mindset very good communication skills. You feel a personal responsibility for the quality of your application and its reliability. You work together with your global colleagues across your domain and from others, including the infrastructure colleagues, to continuously improve how you work and the applications you support. You recognize problems and work to solve them by yourself and with other ING colleagues. You have a 24x7 mind-set, and are willing to participate in a standby shift, knowing that ING operates a 24x7 business for its customers. You embrace the challenge of modernizing the IT Operations of a legacy application and are always on the look-out for improvements in the technical solution as well as the work processes.

Your work environment

The challenging environment for the Ops engineer is focused around an Agile way of working; dynamic environment with lots of change and highly visible applications that deliver services towards the whole group. You will be able to technically lead other developers / operations staff to deliver the priorities set by the product owner.

The Ops Engineer’s primary responsibility is to ensure the operational stability, resilience, integrity, and availability of the Applications. You will proactively identify application, system and process related problems. You will assume leadership of your DevOps team when an Incident occurs and your Application has an outage or is part of a Major Incident that affects the operation of your Application.

All members of the Squad are multi-skilled with their primary and secondary responsibilities and corresponding skill set. As Ops Engineer your primary responsibilities are broadly classified below. However, you are also expected to learn and demonstrate new skills.
