The opportunity

Bank Mendes Gans N.V. (BMG) is part of ING Wholesale Banking. BMG is an independent bank that is a 100% subsidiary of ING Bank. We have intensive cooperation with our ING colleagues. You will be part of an enthusiastic team with more than 200 colleagues. We are located in Amsterdam City Center. BMG provides Liquidity Management services, products and solutions to Multi-National Corporate Clients. The Process Expert is part of the Services department, Quality and Process team.

Role and responsibilities

We have a challenging opportunity available for an ambitious professional. We are looking for an experienced Process Expert to support BMG with the integration of process management within the organization. You support management and business lines of BMG by designing and supporting to achieve the BMG’s vision by improving efficiency and effectiveness, quality and time, customer and employee satisfaction of BMG's end-to-end processes to enable the delivery of easy and uniform processes across the organization that are compliant and integrated with the IT and Data management capabilities.

The candidate should have a strong awareness about process management, analytical skills, proficient and disciplined in driving and supporting continuous improvement and transformation of processes in harmonization with the organizational way of working, risk management, data management layer and architectural operating model of BMG. You facilitate, train, coach and develop BMG leadership teams and employees on process, operations and lean management practices and ensure delivery and impact of process management. In close collaboration the candidate aligns, shares and transfers knowledge to and with WB, Global and if required also other ING entities stakeholders.

Your responsibilities (incl. but are not limited to the following):

Development of BMG process excellence roadmaps and operational plans:

  • Support management in developing and keeping up-to-date an action plan for the implementation of process improvements across BMG (timing and sequence, areas, processes)
  • Communicate improvement initiatives and objectives with management/ change organization.
  • Ensure that improvement initiatives are feasible and integrated in the BMG way of working (rhythm and routines)

Roll out process management, coordinate and run process initiatives across BMG business lines.

  • Run the detailed diagnostic in end-to-end processes and organizational area to identify changes required in descriptions of process, people and performance management improvements.
  • Work together with business to manage business processes described in ARIS and Zenya.
  • Identify and quantify improvement potential (operational and financial)
  • Define and ensure execution capabilities required for implementation
  • Ensure support and approval of process owners
  • support shifts in mindsets and behaviours to install process management as a “way of life”, update periodically via BMG Intranet what the status is of process updates.

Ensure knowledge sharing and performance culture within the organization:

  • Support operational staff to enhance Work Place Instructions for processes
  • Develop the performance culture by coordinating initiatives on operational processes
  • Update procedures, processes, policies and systems given the validity
  • Develop presentations, communication and conduct ad hoc analysis on a diverse range of topics related to Process management.

  • Academic degree
  • 5+ years of experience as process consultant/manager
  • Experience in process design and ING global process management process framework
  • Experience in business and process architecture
  • Experience in data modelling/data management
  • Experience in Agile way of working (Lean, Agile, Kanban and Scrum)
  • Excellent English language skills, both written as well as spoken
  • Good working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Confluence, Service Now
  • Coordination and project management skills for running continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strong willingness and ambition to drive process and cultural change
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship management skills
  • Able to understand different stakeholders, understand the business we are in, ability to indirect influence and navigate different cultural environments and maturity levels
