In Internal Communications & Engagement we are looking for an Internal Communications Lead with a strategic mind, a passion for engaging internal audiences on the strategic direction, a flair for consulting as well as experience in managing teams of professionals. Your strategic advice skills and communications expertise will drive maximum engagement with internal stakeholders.

You are a good listener, with a customer centric mindset, you focus on making impact and you have a hands-on mentality to get things done.

The team

As the Internal Communications Lead you will report to the Head of Internal Communications & Engagement. Together with the leads and colleagues of the other two teams in Internal Communications & Engagement, Channels & Formats and Events & Experiences, you will drive internal understanding and excitement around the strategy. You’ll work closely with colleagues in External Communications & Media Relations and Brand & MarCom and with our communications and branding colleagues around the world but also with our Retail and Wholesale Banking business operations, with senior management and corporate staff departments such as Corporate Strategy, HR and Sustainability.

Roles and responsibilities

Roles and responsibilities of the Internal Communications Lead include

• Leading and engaging a team of communications specialists

• Driving internal understanding and excitement around the strategy

• Being the communications partner to the business for internal strategy communications and engagement

• Being the liaison between the business and the global and local Comms, Brand & MarCom teams when it comes to strategy engagement

• Helping and supporting leadership to communicate effectively

• Creating engaging content on our strategic direction that fits the channel/target audience to be relevant and make impact

• Preparing, coordinating and executing communications plans and content for internal channels

We are looking for an enthusiastic and impact-driven communicator who can drive the Internal Communications team forward. Key capabilities are:

• Communications professional with at least ten years’ experience

• Experience with and passion for leading a team of professionals

• Excellent in building and maintaining relationships and confident with advising senior management on communications

• A proven track record of writing and executing engaging communications plans

• Fluent command of English – Dutch also preferred

• A team player, apt at bringing teams and people together for maximum impact
