
Financial Risk Analyst Functional Development
Background
ING Bank is rolling out one standard implementation for Interest Rate Risk and Forecasting in the banking books. Regulations and internal risk management insights require us to enhance our Asset and Liability Management (ALM) capabilities to be implemented consistently throughout ING Bank. We (the Financial Risk Functional Development team) develop new functionality and methodologies for risk management in one target platform (QRM) as well as the ALM results area where all our calculated results come together. Our team looks to find the right balance between conceptual risk management and practical implementation solutions.
Our objective is to enhance the “ING standard” configuration for the QRM roll-out in all locations ING operates in, such that it enables us to report and calculate the core Risk figures in QRM (NII- and NPV-@risk). When joining the team you will work on the implementation and roll-out of one central ALM Data Results area as well as supporting the team with monthly ALM data deliveries and reconciliations for reporting purposes.
You will play a central role within ING and your success will depend on your ability to maintain good relations with our end-users and stakeholders, i.e. Financial Risk teams (central ALM reporting team), ING locations and ING Finance teams.
We are looking for a committed and collaborative team player, who is experienced in managing data, understands complex data structures and knows how these contribute to managing ALM risk. Also understanding ALM data requests from our supervisors (ECB, EBA) and able to translate these into structured and timely deliverables is key.
You should have a strong affinity with position (specifically Finance) data and be able to cooperate with internal and external stakeholders to find the structural best solution for ING. Experience with Finance systems, especially in the area of ALM or Treasury related data, is appreciated.
Tasks to be performed
Development of functionality that structurally support the locations and ING Head Office in the timely and consistent delivery of complex analysis and reporting-data requests in an ALM results area (e.g. ALCO /stress test inputs)

Translate (external and internal) business data requests into understandable and actionable items and designs with the team.

Align and agree results with main stakeholders and management.

Develop new functionality and analysis capabilities in our target model in QRM to structurally support an efficient delivery of complex data requests.

Personal profile
We are looking for someone with the following skills/profile
- Collaborates well in a team environment.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in business analysis, data analytics or data science.
- Proficient oral and written communication skills in English.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the banking sector, preferably in ALM.
- Master’s degree in econometrics, mathematics, economics, finance or similar study.
- Capable of acting as connector between Finance, Risk and IT.
- You can switch in roles to ensure a mix of content, seniority and organizational sensitivity.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication skills.
- Hands-on experience working with Power BI, or similar tool is a plus.
