BMG is looking for a (Senior) Business Control Officer Bank Mendes Gans N.V. (BMG) is part of ING Wholesale Banking.

BMG is an independent bank that is a 100% subsidiary of ING Bank. We have intensive co-operation with our ING colleagues. You will be part of an enthusiastic team with more than 200 colleagues. We are located in Amsterdam City Center. BMG provides Liquidity Management services, products and solutions to Multi National Corporate Clients.

BCO is part of the Client Services department. We have a challenging opportunity available for an ambitious professional. We are looking for an experienced Business Control Officer to support the Business Control Office (BCO). You support management and business lines of BMG in managing the operational and compliance risks.

The candidate should have strong risk awareness, analytical skills, proficient in disciplined execution of Non-Financial Risk (NFR) Processes and Procedures. In close collaboration, alignment and sharing with WB and if required also other ING entities.

This entails maintaining close links with all stakeholders within various business lines of BMG, and also closely coordinating with other stakeholders, most notably in the business lines, ORM, Compliance, Legal and CAS.

Role and responsibilities

The responsibilities of BCO, include but are not limited to the following:

• Monitor that the risk profile of BMG remains within its risk appetite by identifying risks, implement and maintain risk & control logs, executing key control testing, tracking actions, reporting incidents and Key Risk Indicators.
• Advise management and business lines of BMG on the risk profile, the implementation and operational effectiveness of key controls.
• Work closely together with Business Management to create awareness and ensure timely implementation of group policies and control standards, while limiting the impact on the business.
• Develop presentations, communication and conduct ad hoc analysis on topics related to KYC, FEC, Fraud, Privacy Data Protection.

• Academic degree
• 3+ years of experience in the banking industry with Operational Risk Management and/or Compliance track record
• Risk minded, knowledge of and experience with Operational Risk Management and Compliance
• Good working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Excellent English language skills, both written as well as spoken. Dutch language skills are desired but not essential
• Strong work ethic combined with a structured and disciplined approach, resulting in ‘getting things done’
• Focused on timely and high quality deliverables.
• Strong analytical skills
• Able to understand different stakeholders, understand the business we are in, and navigate different cultural environments
• Organization sensitive’ with persuasiveness-skills and ability to use indirect influence
