At a glance

The team, where you will work as a platform engineer maintains the On-premise Internal API Gateway (OP-IAG). We are one of the four platform teams within the grid Development Services. In addition to the four platform teams, the department includes teams that provide training, manage standards & guidelines and enable developers. Our platforms are a key part of the stability of the bank as a whole!

Your job

The position is certainly interesting and multi-faceted. Not only do you research and develop new tools, but you also configure existing ones. As you are in the heart of it all, you align, discuss and work with many teams within the bank. All this while keeping a highly critical platform up and running!


Our daily work is diverse. It consists of development (e.g. developing integrations with internal platforms), operations (e.g. troubleshooting production applications) and automation.
Next to this you'd attend the typical scrum events (daily scrum, sprint reviews and retrospectives)


Together with the team, you are responsible for:
• further development of a secure and stable integration infrastructure
• Building and maintaining high quality monitoring
• analysing and resolving any incidents on our platform
• improving our platform's performance and usability

Working environment

As a junior platform engineer you will work in one of our core teams dedicated to delivering high available, high performance integration platforms. You will enter an energetic environment with multiple teams working to create the banking infrastructure of the future. As part of one of our platform teams you build and maintain an integration platform used by many IT chains to support their business processes. Scalability, high availability and security is our bread-and-butter.

Your profile

As a candidate we expect you to meet the following criteria:

  • Programming (demonstrable experienced in a mainstream programming or scripting language python, JavaScript, bash)
  • Linux, RHEL based distributions preferable, RHCSA certification is a plus
  • Networking knowledge: setup hostnames, calculate IP ranges, know-how about protocols that run in a clustered environment, eg: SSH, DNS, NFS

  • Be a team player with an open mindset and are eager to learn and develop yourself and the team.
  • Have knowledge of Agile software development and have a DevOps mindset.
  • Be eager to learn by doing and be aware of your areas of growth.
