Background

The Global CISO organisation of ING is responsible to assist ING management, business and other tribes in providing customer friendly services in a safe and secure way. Business leaders and CISO are jointly responsible for bank-wide security. CISO is mandated to drive required change in all domains, business and IT. The area of Security Detection and Response (SDR) is providing services to detect malicious attacks at the earliest stage and properly respond to them. For continuous improvement in this area, an SDR program has been established.

The SDR Program Manager defines the details of the epics / features in this program in alignment with the subject matter experts. In this role, the SDR Program Manager is challenging the experts on basis of the overall objectives of the program and ensures a SMART-ly defined program, including required resourcing, milestones, budget required and due dates. Furthermore, the SDR PM ensures reliable progress reporting and objective realization. The SDR PM also supports the Head of SDR in ING’s budgeting cycle (Dynamic Plan)

The SDR Program Manager:

- combines program management and security detection and response expertise;

- will drive realization of the objectives;

- ensures that impediments are timely flagged and acted upon;

- is able to independently assess the quality of the delivery in the Epics, Features and Stories;

The program manager will also align with the Chief Product Owners for Security Detection and Security Response on definition of the activities and ensure the acceptance of deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

The Program Manager is responsible for

  • Defining the activities within the various sprints in the Epics and Features
  • Ensuring the quality of functional and non-functional requirements from stakeholders
  • Acting as point of contact for the Head of SDR
  • Identifying and escalation of impediments within delivery
  • Maintaining relations with the country and business unit leaders to ensure effectiveness of the products and services
  • Reporting on progress and risks of the SDR program to the Head of SDR and other stakeholders

Audit & Compliance

  • Ensures compliance of the new and existing products/services to applicable standards and regulation (ECB etc)

Requirements

Proven track record and technical skills:

  • Master’s degree in Cybersecurity , computer science or comparable degree
  • 10-15 years’ professional experience and relevant information security. Ideally in larger companies and corporate consulting experience.
  • Subject matter expertise in the area of Information Security
  • Understanding of (security) data analytics, quantitative modelling of data and data research
  • Proven experience in delivering security services through a security transformation program, e.g. concerning security monitoring, incident and crisis management, threat intelligence etc.
  • Understanding of current security technologies and emerging trends in this area
  • Good understanding of finance aspects and budgeting cycle
  • Working knowledge of pertinent law and regulations
  • Expertise in driving and steering multidisciplinary teams
  • Good oral and written communication skills, as well as good negotiation and change management skills
  • Can demonstrate success in establishing relationships and influencing decision-making
  • Ability to simplify complexity and drive operational excellence
  • Strong level of English
  • Experience in a financial environment is a plus
