Model Risk Management

MoRM in a nutshell; Models are imperfect reflection of reality. Data and other input is used in models. Models impact our business and we use models for decision making. We need to compensate for uncertainties and shortcomings in our models, as there are risks involved. Can these models be trusted? Are we sure that the output leads to the right decision? Canthe output not be misused of misinterpreted? Models come with a risk. That's why we've created a cross-domain Model Risk Management Framework helping us identifying, classifying, recording and validating models we use across ING . For example, Credit, Market, KYC, Operational and Pricing models. Together with our first line Model Development we try to make the best model for ING by our independent validation.

Business Manager

We are looking for an energetic, creative and delivery-oriented Business manager to support the Global Head of Model Risk Management.

As Business Manager your responsibilities include:

• acting as a sparring partner and sounding board to the Global Head of Model Risk Management
• contribution to MoRM MT strategy offsites, days on which the MT rethinks and re-groups on strategic steering and monitoring.
• coordination of the MoRM Business Plan which provides direction to the team for the year ahead, demonstrates how enablers will unfold for that year and aligns everyone on commitments made
• coordination of MoRM’s annual financial planning process and the proactive management of the budget throughout the year
• preparation of communications and presentations for various key stakeholders, including conferences, panels, presentations
• preparation and facilitation of MT meetings and employee gatherings
• suggesting and implementing improvements to processes and ways of working
• Acting as a linking pin with other business lines and initiates actions. You develop and maintain new networks and, in doing so, create opportunities.
• being the point of contact for a range of topics and determine their impact on stakeholders and the action to be taken
• implementation of Non-Financial Risk framework within Model Risk Management.

About you

• Fluent in English, written and spoken.
• A master degree will be considered a plus (preferably in business administration, finance or similar field)
• You are an excellent communicator and creative in engaging varied audiences effectively
• You embrace challenges in a fast changing and complex environment
• You are comfortable in building relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
• You have great organizational skills, a structured way of working and attention to detail
• A ‘can do’ mentality, proactive and willing to go the extra mile
• Able to manage own work and set own priorities
• Inspire and empower other people by demonstrating trust, openly valuing their expertise and clearly stating your expectations
