Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a Head Risk Governance & Frameworks who is responsible for promoting Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) based governance and policy structures that fully support ING's financial, non-financial and strategic risk activities. The team is the owner of the ERM framework and the bank wide policy house.

You are an energetic and result driven senior leader with strong communication capabilities who is familiar with state- of- the -art methods and technics in risk management. You are an excellent communicator. You pro-actively involve stakeholders and can convincingly drive change, dare to challenge the status-quo, and create buy-in from senior leaders. You can represent ING on senior level at regulators (DNB; ECB).

You report hierarchically to the Head of Integrated Risk. You contribute to align the implementation of the Enterprise Risk Management framework across all risk domains, to achieve a consistent approach in managing the risks of the business and meeting ING’s ambitions.

The Risk Governance & Frameworks team is part of Integrated Risk which aims to create clear and holistic oversight across the different risks and business lines and needs to allow for integrated monitoring, reporting and management of risks.

Main responsibilities

  • Owner of the Enterprise Risk Management framework and responsible for design, maintenance and change management of the framework;
  • Responsible for alignment and consistency of all underlying frameworks of non-Financial (including Model Risk), Financial and Strategic risk;
  • Owner of the Policy House and responsible for design, key risk coverage, policy editing and quality assurance;
  • Work together with subject matters experts in risk management, senior management and stakeholders to plan and execute Enterprise Risk Management;
  • Use your in-depth risk management skills and business knowledge aligned to business objectives to deliver high quality Enterprise Risk Management support;
  • Initiate and embed changes in behaviour and culture via training and guidance from an Enterprise Risk Management perspective;
  • Ensure that business value is realised by managing risks successfully through your Enterprise Risk Management framework;

Reporting lines

  • Reports directly into the Head of Integrated Risk;

Education requirements

Education at Bachelor/Master level with preferably a specialisation in Business, Economics or Law

Work experience and required skills

  • You have at least 10 years of work experience, with at least 5 years in various 2nd Line of Defense risk management domains, and worked in recent years at senior level
  • You have relevant consultancy, project, or programme management experience and demonstrated experience of successfully implementing Risk Governance & Frameworks
  • You actively keep up your professional knowledge and translate external trends in applicable knowledge
  • Excellent command of English, being able to demonstrate negotiation, presentation and writing skills;
  • Able to deal with cultural differences, conflicting interests, complex and unforeseen challenges, as well as to constructively cooperate with your peers in building a sustainable, effective and efficient working environment;
