ING is looking for a Credit Risk Analyst

Tribe Credit Risk Management (CRM) is an enthusiastic and diverse team of highly qualified professionals. We are responsible for managing the credit risks in the lending portfolios of all segments in the ING NL Lending book amounting to EUR 145 bn in total exposure. We do this by maintaining compliant and data driven policies, setting credit risk appetite, monitoring portfolios using business intelligence and developing predictive risk models. We closely cooperate with our business stakeholders to guide them to better business while pro-actively managing the associated credit risks.

Tribe CRM consists of a team of 40 experts, distributed across three chapters: Credit Risk Portfolio Management, Credit Risk Analytics, and Predictive Analytics. Good credit risk data is at the core of all our activities, in which we combine credit risk and business expertise with data driven analyses. We use various business intelligence solutions and technologies to explore, analyse and exploit data. We keep up-to-date on the latest trends relevant to us in areas like Credit Risk regulations, Data Management, and Machine Learning. We adopt an agile way of working and believe that empowerment is crucial for our team to be successful.

For the Credit Risk Analytics chapter, we are looking for a Credit Risk Analyst with a passion for data driven analysis and exploring new data visualization technologies, to assist in bringing credit risk management to the next level. Credit Risk Analytics is the chapter that provides expertise on credit risk analysis, data management, credit risk regulations and loan loss provisioning (IFRS9) to help the squads at Tribe CRM in realizing their objectives. The position offers excellent opportunities to broaden your credit risk management and data analytics competencies, while working on your soft skills by dealing with our many external and internal stakeholders.

What does a Credit Risk Analyst at ING do?

As a Credit Risk Analyst, you will work on a wide variety of topics with a focus on maintaining the quality of the lending portfolios, both now and in the future. Your role will be to:

  • Perform data driven credit risk analyses to support the setting and monitoring of risk policies and Key Performance Indicators, Risk Appetite (RAS) limits, and Risk Costs and Capital forecasts;
  • Support model development of regulatory (PD, EAD, LGD) and non-regulatory (credit approval, early warning) models, by providing ready for use credit risk data;
  • Collaborate with colleagues from the Credit Risk Portfolio Management Chapter to develop adequate credit risk policies, both acceptance and in-life management;
  • Contribute to bank-wide projects for which credit risk input is required, such as risk based pricing, CRWA / capital optimization, and regulatory on-sites and requests;
  • Contribute to implementing the BI Strategy, which is built on data ready for use, automation, visualization using dashboards, and empowering stakeholders to do their own analyses;
  • Work according to ING’s agile Way of Working, i.e. you work together with your squad members to deliver on the purpose and ambitions of your squad.

Additionally, you should have

  • Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail, supported by expert knowledge of BI tooling like SAS Enterprise Guide, SAS Base, and/or SQL;
  • Experience in portfolio monitoring and analyses, preferably in a credit risk environment, an innovative mindset, and an unconditional drive to turn ideas into reality;
  • Familiarity with regulatory credit risk models and model development processes is a plus;
  • Drive to constantly develop yourself professionally and passion about Credit Risk related topics;
  • Great team player skills;
  • And of course you should be fluent in English and/or Dutch.
