Trade Finance Specialist (Trade Structuring & Advisory III) within the Centre of Expertise Transaction Services (CoE TS)

As Dutch native speaking Trade Finance Specialist you will be working within the Expert Sales team of the CoE TS. You are the specialist and go-to person for documentary payments import/export finance and bankguarantees (TFS) in the Netherlands. You focus on Mid-Corporate customers, but you will also provide support to the International Business Desk (focusing on SME customers).

As a product specialist, you are responsible for supporting the TS Specialist and for advising customer around the most complex TFS transactions. You will be joined by the TS Specialist when going to customers or you will align with him/her beforehand. Next to that you are responsible for the TFS knowledge and expertise within the entire Business Banking Sales organisation. You will do this by organising training and knowledge sharing sessions. You are also continuously improving the TFS profession and proposition. You are responsible for the alignment with Wholesale Banking around TFS and you translate opportunities and policy towards the rest of Business Banking. As TFS Specialist you have in-depth knowledge on supply chain of the customer and you use this to advise customers around TFS matters.

And last but not least you are an enthusiastic ambassador of the Orange Code.

You are part of the CoE TS which consists of 7 colleagues in the Expert Sales Team and 5 CJEs in the Value Creation team. Your role is based in Amsterdam and you will report to the CoE TS Lead. You work centrally and provide advice to customers in all parts of the Netherlands. You will focus on specific sectors. This role is function scale 11.

Your key responsibilities

As Trade Structuring & Advisory III your provide in-depth TFS advise toward the TS Specialists and customers leading to a profitable TFS business and high customers satisfaction. This results in the following responsibilities:

  • Being the authority with regards to TFS towards both colleagues and customers
  • Providing advice that is based on the needs of the customer
  • Closely collaborating with the TS Specialist. In case of large and/or complex transactions or new relations with a significant TFS question, you can temporarily be part of the multi-disciplinary commercial team with the Relationship manager, the TS Specialist and the Lending Specialist
  • Contributing to the portfolio and acquisition plans based on your knowledge of the market and your expertise by identifying prospects and opportunities in the market. This also means contributing to pitches and presenting these to the customer
  • Improving the profitability of the product by contributing to pricing policy and cost allocation discussions. This includes 1st line fiat for customized proposals
  • Following developments, trends and innovations in the area of TFS and translating these to the Business Banking organization and its customers, cross all segments
  • Improving the knowledge around TFS products, trends and market developments within Business Banking Sales. For example by organizing trainings and theme and knowledge sessions
  • Using social media to position yourself as an expert and to strengthen your network position
  • Conducting client conversations around complex TFS question in collaboration with the TS Specialist and the Relationship manager. Taking into account the business model and specific needs of the customer
  • Introducing new client propositions (product, channel) in the area of TFS for all segments and sectors and closely collaborating with colleagues from WB and CoE TS to realize these introductions
  • Monitoring, from TFS perspective, changing customer needs due to developments in the market and communicating these towards WB. Proactively offering suitable servicing towards complex TFS relations. Informing colleagues and relations proactively around planned policy- or legal changes and TFS product developments and taking care of completion of project-based client actions

You communicate clearly and share your knowledge and expertise via training and coaching with colleagues
  • TFS Authority: you have specific product expertise, in-depth specialist knowledge of Trade Finance, QCM and QT and general knowledge of Commercial Finance and Financial Markets products
  • Problem analysis and research ability: you make quick analysis yourself (from commercial and transaction perspective), using data analysis and draw conclusions based on your expertise. Based on the available information, you have conversations with the customer
  • Collaboration, planning, organising and coordinating skills: in some cases, you are part of the deal team and you come up with customized solutions in collaboration with colleagues and release these. As the country-wide expert, you work structured, based on planning and you are well organised. You can cope with strict deadlines and you perform well under pressure
  • Digital and social media savviness: you are an early adopter and create new possibilities by using relevant digital opportunities
  • Minimum 8 years relevant working experience
  • Strong affinity and experience with the Agile Way of Working
  • Fluent in Dutch and English
