As a Data Analyst in People Analytics CoE : you are a key person to support ING’s (senior) stakeholders, inside and outside HR, translating business challenges into data & analytics solutions. You use your analytical approach and solid communication skills to scope the real business problems and provide actionable insights & scenarios for stakeholders decision making. You can quickly design and build a (mock-up) dashboard in Excel, and if needs be, you scale it up into a PowerBI dashboard, building it end-to-end with its data pipelines developed in SQL and/or PowerBI DAX. You deliver timely, reliable and valid information and assess feasibility and workability of ad hoc requests. You ensure that management reporting is effective and consistent. The information you provide will be used on a strategic level, to facilitate discussions on topics like recruitment, turnover, diversity, performance & reward, employee experience, and employee listening & survey set ups. That’s why we value your communication skills as much as your technical skills.
Our Team
The People Analytics CoE team consists of 15 people and is part of Global HR. We are working on projects to make ING the best place to work. Our team works agile and is structured in two squads: continuous listening (CL) and workforce analytics (WFA), each squad has its own product owner and the squad’s members are either data scientists/analyst/engineer or business translators. The CL squad develops analytics products which uses data generated mainly by surveys and the WFA squad develops products for different pillars of ING’s workforce planning (structure, performance, cost, skills & competencies). People Analytics is a relative new field and there is a lot of room for development, experimentation, and innovation.
Key responsibilities:
- You are on the front line, proactively identifying and translating people insights into actionable initiatives
- You answer complex questions around reporting, dashboards and benchmarking, also being able to reconcile data from multiple sources and understanding the main constraints and data quality issues
- You anticipate bottlenecks and bring together all necessary resources in order to successfully deliver in a timely manner
- You create and present your Business Intelligence (BI) solutions in a meaningful and user-accessible way
- You work for the improvement of current processes and are able to design new ones in an effort of continuous improvement
- You use your technical knowledge to decide on the adoption of new technologies that can improve the team’s performance and delivery
- You are proactive and innovative, always searching for new ways to present information and design BI solutions, you have good data visualization skills
- You always keep track of internal and external developments in the area of data, reporting and BI and you bring new ideas into the current practices
Required knowledge, experience and competencies:
- You have at least 3 years of work experience as a data analyst or in BI & advanced reporting, having consultancy background is a plus
- You are skilled in PowerBI dashboarding and can design efficient data models & writing DAX measures
- You can create SQL ETL for your dashboards in MSSQL Server
- You are experienced in Microsoft Excel & VBA
- You are familiar with human resources and/or finance reporting practices, having working experience in HR field is a plus
- You are able to translate your findings and recommendations into the business language of your stakeholders
- You have proven capability in problem solving and finding creative solutions to technical and business problems
- You are a great team player, able to actively engage your colleagues by sharing, giving and asking for help
Preferred qualifications:
- You are preferably skilled in OOP such as Python and version control in Git Azure DevOps
- You are familiar with visualisation and UX tools
