As Business Development Expert at ING Neo, you will support the Value Space leads to bring the (financial) value of innovation initiatives. You will help executing on the Value Space strategy. You operate beyond borders - scaling new businesses cross-border. The Business Development Expert’s purpose is to continuously explore options for the innovation Value Space strategy, transform the strategy into testable concepts and identify priorities and next steps to be executed in collaboration with ING colleagues.
The team
ING Neo is a business area within ING, helping ING to transform into an innovative organization and deliver impact through adjacent and disruptive innovation. These innovations may be implemented through partnerships with FinTechs or ING Neo assets, new initiatives in ING Innovation Labs, or investments through ING Ventures. ING Neo has five Value Spaces – Housing, Financial Health, Disrupt Lending, Trade and Safe & Compliant.
Roles and responsibilities
As Business Development Expert for the Value Spaces you will represent the value space in exploration exercises , defining problem statements with the Strategy and Exploration team based on ING’s business needs. Spotting largest customer challenges based on desk research and interactions with key stakeholders in the market in collaborating with the innovation lab’s initiatives , making introductions to key stakeholders. Ensuring feedback from key stakeholders is taken into account for decision making. Considering risky assumptions based on previous learnings in working with the FinTech Partnership team to create impactful FinTech partnerships , ensuring the scouting round assesses & determines the best FinTech to collaborate with. Creating the conditions for a successful pilot. Ensure lasting impact of the partnership through maintaining relationships and measurement in potential Ventures/M&A investment / divestment decisions in collaboration with the Ventures team. in supporting ING Neo scale-ups and majority owned investments , priority setting, preparing Quarterly Business Reviews and collaborating with scale-ups and ING business units to ensure strategic value for ING. in building the ecosystem , both within ING and externally by organising the Value Space community with key stakeholders.

Experience in retail/business banking, digital and/or transformation is a plus;

Background in FinTech, Strategy Consultancy or Corporate Finance is a plus;
