
Senior Reward Expert
The opportunity
ING is looking for …
A Senior Compensation Expert in the Broad Based Reward team, within the Global HR (GHR) Community of Expertise Performance & Reward. Performance & Reward consists of eight key areas: Performance Management, Equity Rewards, Executive Rewards, Broad Based Reward, Remuneration and Regulations, International Mobility, Pension and Benefits and Change Lead. This is a particularly exciting time to join as GHR is implementing its HR Target Operating Model (HR TOM) supported by a new Global HR IT solution (Workday). As part of HR TOM, Global Communities of Expertise (CoEs) are created and you can be part of this challenging journey. Within Performance & Reward at ING we are facing the transition from a more decentralised towards a more globally steered and standardised way of working. This is accompanied with the introduction of global processes, standards and one global compensation tool.
This role reports to the Head of Broad Based Reward and is responsible for:
Global Remuneration Process Design

Support the design and development of end to end processes for the Annual Compensation Round (Variable Remuneration and Salary Increases, pool structure, benchmarking, budgeting) which will be implemented locally and globally in collaboration with global and local Performance & Reward, HR Business Partner, People Services and Employee Experience ensuring compliance with Group policy, regulatory requirements and market practice;

Conduct feasibility studies and make required changes to the current way of working visible (decision papers);

Facilitate change management;

Support the implementation of the new processes.
Workday Implementation

Set up the Advanced Compensation Module in Workday which includes the design of the relevant data fields, process flows and governance for all components of the Annual Compensation Round;

Conducting workshops with countries to align the global standards;

Support the process build in Workday;

Overview and conduct the testing phase before Go live;

Review the current set up of the off-cycle compensation module and work with countries who are going live in phases.
Remuneration Schemes

Define global standards for remuneration schemes which support the Performance & Reward Strategy manifested in ING’s Our People Offer and which are in line with the banking regulation;

Ensure all relevant stakeholders are involved and aligned and a change management plan is ready;

Support and oversee countries working towards those global standards.
Process Improvement and Run Activities of the Annual Compensation Round
Continuously look for process improvements to the Annual Compensation Round:

Based on pervious years you will seek to improve the current processes constantly until the Advanced Compensation Module in Workday is rolled out;

You oversee the Annual Compensation Round, ensure appropriate Stakeholder Management, Communication towards countries and businesses;

You set up the current system and manage the external provider.
Internal and External Stakeholder & Relationship Management
You build effective relationships with all internal stakeholders with an aim to support the
realisation of the Performance & Reward strategy:

You manage relationships with third party providers and consultancies to ensure value for money and an efficient service and contract management;

You break down barriers within and across the business lines by actively seeking out opportunities to bring other parties in to add further value.
How to succeed
You are a driven Reward professional with extremely good social and communication skills. You not only identify with our objectives and culture but are also able to make a real difference by propagating this culture. In addition, you recognise yourself in the following qualities:

You have more than 5 years’ experience in Reward at a multinational company. You have been involved in all aspects of reward, including complex annual compensation reviews, executive compensation, policy development and role out. Due to the complex regulatory framework we operate within experience with reward at a financial industry sector company is considered a benefit;

You are a pleasant person to work with, able to work both as a team member and independently and are able to lead global projects;

You are a trusted sparring partner for HR Directors and Business Partners as well as line managers. You identify business issues and are able to develop possible solutions. You have a strong personality in order to deal with senior management;

You are able to determine the planning and budget, identify the project risks, organise teams and monitor progress of various projects simultaneous. You are result-oriented and take responsibility and ownership;

Furthermore, you are capable of presenting your ideas in a clear and convincing manner;

You are able to quickly deliver on both day-to-day activities as well as projects, while maintaining great follow through and attention to detail. While doing so, you are proactive, resourceful, and are willing to go the extra mile;

You are able to manage large data-sets and analytics / reporting suites;

You have the ability to plan and execute an Annual Compensation Review in a matrix environment;

You have the ability to effectively communicate and partner with colleagues within and outside of HR as well as with senior business stakeholders from Finance, Risk etc;
