Your role & work environment

ING Private Banking is the fastest growing Private Bank in the Netherlands and ING is well positioned to continue the fast pace of client growth in the coming years. Our main strength is the strong relationship we have with entrepreneurs via the Business Banking segment, which is the most important growth driver. And this is combined with a strong leverage on ING’s digital competencies as leading digital bank in Europe. ING aims to provide a digitally supported proposition, offering a range of wealth solutions to help entrepreneurs to reach their ambitions in life. ING Private Banking welcomes clients with 1M+ Assets under management.

Recently ING has taken bold steps in refining our customer value propositions as well as our business model as a sales organisation. To address changing client needs and expectations for more digital self-service and support when financial questions become more complex, we have reshaped our banking service model related to wealth advisory services. This follows the principles of Easy (do-it-yourself), Guided (supported when the need arises) and Relationship (fully supported for high-earning customers) banking. Within our Private Banking business, we focus our efforts on Relationship banking, where our customers are supported by relationship managers and product specialists to best serve new and existing Private Banking customers.

Your role as Head of Private Banking and Wealth Management is to deliver an excellent customer experience and provide high-value services to ING’s top clients, whilst steering the organisation in realising the commercial, organisational and sustainability targets as collaboratively defined by the Retail Management Team.

Your key responsibilities

  • You will take overall responsibility for designing, developing, and delivering ING’s client strategy for Private Banking customers.
  • You will be responsible for financial and non-financial risk within the Private Banking and Wealth Management domain.
  • You will define and communicate the Private Banking strategy and the relationship between the overall ING Market Leaders vision; ensuring that all Private Banking employees are clear on their purpose, motivated and engaged.
  • You will be responsible for designing a future proof digital & human-client approach for our Private Banking domain.
  • You will define relevant strategies and roadmaps to transform the business even more to provide an excellent customer experience and drive future client growth.
  • You will identify and manage stakeholders of influence to Private Banking across the organisation, ensuring alignment and support to realise the ambitions of the business.
  • You will translate the bank’s strategy and changing customer behaviour into business outcomes and ensure you stay on track, remaining focussed on the right priorities.
  • You will proactively anticipate dependencies and collaboration across the entire organization and with the parties that need to contribute to the digital transformation agenda of the bank.
  • You are responsible for the relationship management for our key (wholesale bank) clients.
  • You will report directly into the Head of Retail NL.
