About this opportunity
The ALM Risk team is responsible for ING’s global Funding & Liquidity risk management and has high visibility impact through the analysis and advice on key developments to senior management. We proactively design and implement risk practices that safeguard ING’s liquidity position in the everchanging economic and financial landscapes.
Join our team of professionals located in Amsterdam, the global expertise centre, where you will have the opportunity to connect with various stakeholders across business lines and geographies with the aim to monitor and identify important developments on ING’s balance sheet and the external environment it operates in. You will need sound quantitative skills and a curious mind that thrives in a fast-paced global environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Monitor and advise on key balance sheet and market developments relevant for ING’s funding and liquidity position.
- Support initiatives in the quantification, modelling and stress testing of funding and liquidity risks.
- Enhance and formulate forward-looking risk solutions.
- Challenge ING’s funding strategy and funding structure at Group as well as subsidiary level.
- Ensure ING’s alignment with supervisory expectations, and support supervisory discussions with the ECB and SRB.
- Coordinate initiatives across key stakeholders including Group Treasury, Finance, Financial Markets, the Wholesale and Retail business lines.
Who are we looking for?
- A young professional with strong quantitative skills and solid understanding of financial risks in banking.
- At least 4 years of experience in relevant areas such as financial risk, ALM, Treasury and banking supervision.
- Sound knowledge of balance sheet dynamics.
- Able to understand the complexities of a global bank with cross border operations and various regulatory requirements and guidelines.
- Capable of analysing complex concepts and translating these into simple and concise narratives for management.
- Thriving in a diverse and dynamic working environment.
- Academic level, preferably in Economics, Econometrics or Finance.
- VBA, Python or QRM proficiency is a strong plus.
Personal profile
- A flexible team player with excellent command of English.
- Strong prioritization, negotiation, communication and analytical capabilities.
- Able to effectively deal with situations involving conflicting interests as well as complex and fast-evolving unforeseen challenges.
