The opportunity

Global Infrastructure & Engineering (I&E) provides all the global Tech Infrastructure services and tooling supporting our global engineering workforce. Within Tech I&E, the Tribe Global IT Engineering and Operations serves the goal to provide the end-to-end Engineering Journey for our awesome Engineers, to ensure they can securely design, plan, code, build, deploy, test, run and monitor their application(s).

The team

  • The Tribe GITEO comprises three Global Areas:

  • Global Operations – containing the GMCR, GMIM and the Global ServiceNow platform

  • Global Monitoring – delivering the Global Monitoring Data Pipeline (MDPL)

Global Engineering – providing the Global OnePipeline platform

Roles and responsibilities

We are looking for an Engineer who will work on the application the Forge. The Forge connects product providers and consumers within ING. Together with other portals within ING, we want to improve Developer Experience.

You are an energetic and proactive IT Engineer with a passion programming, operations, and a positive, “Do it-Try it-Fix it” mentality. You know how to write and test code and have experience with CI/CD Azure DevOps. You are a natural team player who forms relationships based on social skills rather than hierarchical structure.

You have a broad understanding of both technical and orange code competences with which you feel comfortable with all ING squads.

You are an ambassador and have deep passion for people and IT around the Globe. This role requires emphasis on the following:

  • You have a strong experience with Linux
  • You are used to build and deploy with Azure DevOps
  • Docker containers. Kubernetes knowledge a strong plus.
  • Solid understanding and experience in Python is an asset
  • Strong affinity with everything-as-code; capable of automating all aspects of testing and deployments. Familiar with infra as code frameworks like ARM or Terraform. Experience with Azure DevOps is a strong plus.
  • Experience with TDD/BDD test methodologies
  • Experience with performance test methodologies
  • You have excellent problem-solving skills and are passionate about IT and people.
  • You are inspiring and show energy and passion.
  • You follow the newest trends in IT, you are able to put theory into practice
  • You are able to help your colleagues
  • You are focused on cross border and multi-party collaboration: you set aside your own 'ego' in the interests of achieving the best results - you help others to be successful.
  • Hability to understand provided technical / architectural designs and translate it into code
  • Hability to read and understand code previously made by other ING colleagues and follow with the work.

Education and background

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or comparable (HBO Bachelor)
  • A personality and the capabilities to optimally function within an Agile environment
  • Experience in guiding and realizing change
  • Experience/affinity with ING Tech is a pre
  • Professional and intellectual IT skills at bachelor or university level
  • You have a background in IT engineering area, preferably in Agile teams as a DevOps Engineer
  • Experience with Azure DevOps/Cloud solutions
  • Excellent oral and written command of English
