Employee Journey advisor
The opportunity
Are you keen to take the initiative and empower your colleagues to stay a step ahead in life, both personally and professionally? Is the Orange Code in your blood, and do you enjoy helping the business and HR to get even better every day? If so, then HR is the place to put your talents to good use.
Your position
Within our Human Resources organisation, People Services creates a unique employee experience and works together closely with the HR Centres of Expertise and HR Business Partners.
People Services handles the questions and requests from employees and managers/leads from end to end in self-steering autonomous teams. This is done with a high degree of expertise to create a real ‘wow’ effect. The Payroll, Local Compensation and Benefits circle is part of People Services. Within this circle, the Shimpec team is responsible for processing and checking the international payroll and for the employee journey for expats within ING Nederland.
Role and responsibilities
-
You are the single point of contact (SPOC) in the organisation for everything related to the employee journey for expats coming to the Netherlands or leaving to work abroad.
-
You have end-to-end responsibility, even if you enlist the help of other colleagues or chain partners. You work well together with international colleagues to ensure that employees experience a ‘wow’ effect during their entire international assignment.
-
You support ING colleagues who require help or advice. This requires you to be empathetic in order to pick up on important information that could be relevant for your advice.
-
Together with your fellow advisors, you are responsible for building and sharing knowledge and skills.
-
At the start of each day, you and the rest of the team decide which tasks must be completed by the end of the day. You work quickly but carefully.
-
In the agile work environment, adaptability and collaboration play a key role. This means that you can adapt in line with the set priorities and are flexible in terms of the tasks you handle. Besides that, your success is measured by your performance as a team/circle.
You have end-to-end responsibility for the employee journey of people who are on (or plan to go on) an international assignment, including by ensuring correct and timely payroll administration. This includes, among other things:
-
Ensuring that employees can start their assignment on the agreed date
-
Administrative processing in our HR system
-
Looking for solutions in the case of incidents or complex situations
-
Single point of contact for both employees and colleagues (at home and abroad)
-
Applying the right (international) fiscality
-
Checking the salary slips
How to succeed
You enjoy rising to the challenge of the diversity of tasks and you proactively take ownership for all the processes that are involved. You’re a real team player, individually accountable, eager to learn and always willing to empower others to stay a step ahead. In other words: the Orange Code is second nature to you. Additionally, you have the following skills and experience:
-
Strong interpersonal skills. You find it easy to communicate with all levels of the organisation (both in written format and verbally in English and Dutch).
-
Good stakeholder management. You know who you need to keep informed about what and when.
-
Good analytical skills. You are able to view problems and incidents in a broader perspective and connect the dots.
-
The drive to continuously and proactively improve the employee experience.
-
Sound knowledge of (international) payroll and other relevant rules and regulations in the Netherlands.
-
You work accurately.
-
A proactive contribution to your personal development. You’re interested in your professional discipline and enjoy keeping yourself up to date.
-
You have a PDL qualification or are willing to study for one.
-
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent ability.
